Is the venue air conditioned?

Very air conditioned. Sometimes it's even cold in the seats. If you're on the floor you'll be somewhat warm, but way better than most venues in which you'd expect to see metal shows.

I'm not sure rather to chuckle or be insulted at the question.

The venue is air conditioned. However, we have had to adjust it from time to time for the more fragile vocalists so it may be warmer for some sets compared to others.

I pack along a light sweatshirt but I rarely need it. The venue does a great job, but with that many bodies in an enclosed space it's next to impossible to keep the temp steady.

Thanks for the info, everyone.

Glenn, no offense intended, I just didn't know. When the temperature rises I'll know who to consider a fragile vocalist ;)

I smiled when I saw the subject line. Life isn't worth living down here in the Deep South without a/c. But then I realized some of my family in Michigan has never had even a window unit, let alone central air.

I'm glad someone asked this. I was thinking of wearing a tank top and maybe shorts, but since I'm cold-natured if the venue is cold (like below 70) then I would freeze my ass off. Guess I'll wear a thicker shirt - was hoping it would be nice and warm inside. :)

it's like any other venue - there is AC...but depending on the mass of humanity, you might not feel it.
if you plan to be on the floor, shorts and tshirts can be considered de rigueur; if you plan to sit, then you might want to add a sweatshirt to the attire.

options: you have them.

and i really did laugh over much when i read the initial post...bless your heart, sweetie. in the South, AC is a must.

Glenn gave the short answer. I'll give the long one. The reason it gets too cold for some of these wussies is actually pretty simple.

When the "big draws" are playing, the bodies are packed in like sardines and the temp rises accordingly. If we wait until that happens to crank it down, the system will never be able to compensate and it will turn into a sauna. Soooo...it's kept "fweeeezing brrrrr whizzzz" when the place is half empty so that it can be tolerable when the place is full. Capice?

To the OP. Fear not. You will be comfortable.
