Is Tool Metal?

No way in hell would I classify them as alternative concidering alternative all sounds like Nickelback and Creed now. With their last two cds sounding the way way they did, and I might catch hell for this, I would easily concider thm Progressive metal. Opinions?

I've always just considered them progressive rock. Not metal.

They're progressive rock, some metal moments but overall rock. This has been discussed a million times and it's never really interesting.
