Haven't heard the whole thing yet, but yay so far. I didn't like it so much from the samples on line, but it's pretty solid and fans of Ihsahn shouldn't be disappointed.

I listened to it on mp3.com and I really liked it. I ordered it on Monday so it should hopefully arrive late this week or early next week.

I've been listening through this album for the first time today, it's not what I expected, but I reckon it's pretty damn good. It gets a yay from me.
It's good but not great, I like some of and don't like some, I wish there would be less clean sinnging and rock influences and more black metal/symphonic influence/keyboards with all growls but that's basically Prometheus and I like it better than The Adversary.

They don't seem to be much of an inlfuence in parts ot it, it seems to be centered around guitar riffs and musical saounds not coming from drums. Which song on it do you like the best? I like Invocation and Will You Love Me Now and another good one I forget, and also Called By Your Fire stays in my head for a while if I listen to it. Yes, you're right. Prometheus is basically an Ihsahn album. I think Samoth only has a couple of overdubbed riffs in the entire recording and Trym played drums over the drum machine track. But Anthems might as well be an Ihsahn album too - he wrote 90% of it while Samoth was locked up.Neurotic said:

I like the song anyways, in fact, there might only be a max of three songs on that album I would possibly deem skippable.

I've only heard a couple songs and I thought they were ok. Some of the samples I heard sounded interesting. I have a feeling with more listens I might come to like it. That seems to be how it went with all his other work (which I love).
