Israeli / Middle-eastern music

Anyway, I know that Steven Wilson collaborated with Aviv Geffen to make "Blackfield", and while they don't sound particularly Middle Eastern, it's Israeli music. The chick who sung with Andrew Eldritch in The Sisters of Mercy, Ofra Haza, was Israeli, but I haven't heard any of her solo stuff. What you're basically asking for is Oriental Folk, but I can't make any suggestions.

yes we are...hes a crappy poppy movie sound track guy...nothing remotely interesting or innovative...!!!.......PEAC EOUT

He is poppy and mainstream and kills his songs with overproduction... but crappy? He has way too many good songs(esp. in the first couple of years of his career) to be called crappy.

I'd say he is pretty damn good at what he does.

but SW IS Blackfield
True.
although the most of the first blackfield is actually a cover for earlier Aviv Geffen's songs.
try seeking for Aviv Geffen's stuff.

Hayehudim is a rock band from israel. pretty nice, i dont really like them but that just me. (singing in hebrew)

Knesiyat Hasechel are a rock band with some oriental influences. (also, hebrew)

if you want anymore, just say so.

If I'm not mistaken the only Aviv Geffen "cover" song there is Cloudy Now.
