It's Election Day Eve!

Obama's Grandmother Dies - on Election Day Eve! Could this election get ANY MORE EPIC?????

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Senator Barack Obama’s grandmother, a central figure in his life who helped raise him during his teen-age years, died in Hawaii on Monday morning.

Mr. Obama, who left the presidential campaign trail late last month to travel to Honolulu to bid her farewell, announced the death in a statement released by his spokesman upon landing here this afternoon. Her death comes one day shy of Election Day.

Shame she wasn't able to see her grandson get elected president. ONE DAY SHY! :erk: Maybe it is a bad omen...

I'm voting Tuesday. I was going to vote Nadar for the hell of it (since I live in California) but I think there is a sentimental value that wants me to pull for Barack. This is, after all, a historic election.

No, if I were to "threaten" to move I'd be no better than the lazy fools that due the same just to have conversation with complaint.

I've got more reasons to move out of the country than that. I owe a hospital here $2000 for a sprained ankle that I refuse to pay. I'm not in good health as it is and free universal healthcare doesn't sound bad to me at all. The music scene where I live is utter shit as are most of the people that live in the area.

So much for a warm welcome to this forum. Lol.

I recommend moving to another country if you want to. I did it (actually I was in the military and just elected to stay here after I got out) and have enjoyed every single day of my life since. I stayed for similar reasons as why you want to leave: quality of life, good social system, and a good music scene with good people all around me.

It's not for everyone, but I enjoy it.

I tried to vote, but apparently I can't since I'm no longer a resident of Alaska (changed residency while I was in the military in Alaska so I wouldn't have to pay taxes). I then changed it again when I left the AF to here in Italy for work and social programs, and therefore I cannot vote in the US. A little strange, but it makes sense; one can't vote for a state he/she is no longer a resident of. I'm still a US citizen, though...always will be.

Good luck.

Actually, many of the founding fathers were Federalists and believed in a strong central government free of party divisions.

Federalists vs Democrat-republican in the congressional state is the very reason the system of checks and balances was reformed. The federalists wanted one thing, the Democrat-Republican wanted another.

However, Federalists didn't come into strong play congressionally or constitutionally until the early 1800's (a little before with John Adams), and the system of checks and balances was actually introduced, based off of other historical systems in order to keep the early forms of republicans and the democrats who were assuming different rolls in the system of government formed from fucking up the system completely. The system was designed not only for the areas of government, but for the people within it.

Time for a new system!

Edited because my attention span made me type the same thing twice.

I can't possibly believe that the scum of Houston is that civilized.

Depends how deep you roll, and that doesn't mean how many people you're with, and how you conduct yourself. I've been jumped, but I don't see the black men of my city beating up random white people if Obama got assassinated.

Many black people aren't the savages you make them out to be, even if they're trill.

I voted a few days ago, i WAS going to go Nader because im not too keen on either canidate, but i ended up going McCain so we could null out our friends votes for Obama :p it all worked out, next time it comes around i will deffinitely be looking more into it and making a more educated choice, i only did it this year because i can actually vote now.

it will be an interesting election either way.

Go read my post again. I believe I was referring to the "racist thug blacks," not just blacks. There is a difference, and you of all people should know that. I'm not making blacks out to be anything. There is scum of every race.

I see the blacks being pretty pissed off if Obama loses...

Exit polls come soon... granted, if the last 2 exit polls are to be the example, then they're not to be trusted.

However, I still see Obama winning. :(
