Don't know if that has been posted, but it's the chat and everything from today.

You didn't hear it from me;)

There's some Audio of his voice there and some interesting words from Charlie and Scott about the new music.

I missed the chat today:(

Dan Nelson's voice is really raspy..the song isn't that bad either. I'm cool with the whole situation now and excited to see how it turns out.

Heard the sample - WOW ... what a voice.
Phil Anselmo meets John Bush meets Eddie Vedder.

I am pumped now. Made up actually.

Lets pray 2008 is the year our favourite bands comes back for us all!

Hmm... the dude doesn't sound as much like John Bush as people are saying.

Actually kind of reminds me of that dude from Godsmack, but better. (I hate Godsmack. :p) But he still has that baritone gruff thing going. I can see myself getting used to him IF-- and this is IF-- he's singing thrash. And I mean straight-up thrash. That would own; kind of like how Matt Barlow was a gruffer baritone-ish vocalist singing over Iron Maiden-sounding stuff in Iced Earth. That OWNED beyond belief, so ya know what? I'm gonna give this a chance and be optimistic about it.

But it better be thrashy.

As I've posted elesewhere:

I don't have a problem that Scott, Charlie, and Frank want to keep putting out music. But stop calling it Anthrax. Start from scratch, it's not like the name "Anthrax" has much marketability on it these days. Tr00 fans will follow no matter what they call themselves (look at the success of bands like Velvet Revolver or Audioslave that basically only replaced the singer, but changed the name to reflect that the band was now different...doesn't stop them from pulling out "Covers that they wrote" on stage), but by keeping the same name, they stand to lose a lot of casual fans that haven't been following that closely, hear a new song and say "What the fuck is that?"

That said, I would have a hard time supporting the remaining members of a band that stabbed my favorite singer in the back. I respect John that much more that he had the guts to stand up and say no when they eventually came crawling back (and a little bit more respect for Joey having screwed the band over like they screwed him over so many years ago...I wonder if that was his plan all along?)

Oh, and by the way Scott and Charlie, this news was in many places before it appeared in the CDC or on the official website, including Blabbermouth. Still glad I saved my money.

Well it's not John Bush, which sucks major balls. But it's not a lame ass nostalgia trip anymore either, which is cool. I'm a 'tharx fan and will buy the album when it comes out.

Woulda been nice though if Scott would have mentioned it on these boards, oh well though. At least we are going to have new Anthrax music in 2008, so I can't wait.

His voice is okay. Now shut up and put out some music and let that do the talking rather than posting about which shows Scott is attending with his girl.

I will finally be attending my 96th anthrax gig sometime in 2008 but they won't get any money from me for the cdc club anytime soon.

There are bands that have been more of a revolving door. Look at Megadeth! Should be called MegaDAVE or simply "Dave Mustaine", but that's still going under Megadeth. And Van Halen had about the same amount of singers, too. And that's still Van Halen.

John Bush - Eddie Vedder - Dee Snyder (maybe a little too much of the Eddie Vedder, I hate that)
I hear alot of that '90s grunge style in his voice. He screems like Bush though with a touch of Twisted Sister.

Shame I'd loved to see Joey on the new album, but I respect his choice not to do so. I am pretty shure Scott and Charlie arn't the easiest people to work with. I'll give the enw guy a chance but I doubt they'll make another highlight like "spreading the disease"

Good luck to the new guy. He'll need it. No doubt he'll be unceremoniously binned in favour of another lucrative 'reunion' in a few years.

I'm a lifelong Anthrax fan and I've been sniffing about the site for months hoping to see a news item reporting that Bush is back and Charlie and Scott have apologised for an embarrassing and quite frankly disgusting error of judgement.

I saw Anthrax twice when Belladonna returned and to be honest they had become their own tribute band. Such a shame after the brilliance of WCFYA.

Lots of folks would disagree about that VH comment..
MUSTAINE is inarguable, though.

Honestly, this guy has one of the only true "heavy metal" voices to come down the pike in a long time. He exhibits the range, and he definitely has the throat for any Bush era 'Thrax tune ever laid down. So, that satisfies the Bushthrax fan in all of us, and he seems to have the necessary range to possibly pull off some of the Bellathrax stuff.

No one has mentioned it yet, but he has a serious Travis Meeks quality to his voice. Kinda like Travis with balls, if you will.

While I've been fed up with the bullshit for a loooong time. I still support them, and it seems like we're in for a decently sung album to say the least. I'll cross my fingers and stop giving Scott shit when he posts those assed-up MySpace bulletins.

This guy's voice is going to rock with the proper production and that's pretty much all that matters.

Gee a little bitter there dude..
I'm sure we like to consider Jon and joey as our friends who have been backstapped.
Who wouldn't want that for both of them...well jon really...
joey just fucked them up like they did to him back in "92"...
pinching a little and tossing too much of salt on Anthrax there dontya think...:erk:

I mean Maiden have been through 3 singers actually....Steve Harris and Dave Murray are doin just fine keeping the name Iron Maiden going....One thing that I think we can agree is that Anthrax I mean, "scott and charlie" are very poor discision makers...well lets see how well it'll go with the new singer...
If it does not go well with the new singer at least he'll be part of Anthrax history..:)

^
Dang, forgot about 'Maiden!
Oh yeah, Iced Earth went through what? Four singers? And each era of Iced Earth is pretty much sweet.
And I agree with both of you guys that Scott and Charlie sorta suck at decision makers.

look at Annihilator....

I was about to say that.

I think there are a lot more examples. Helloween, Savatage, or what about Black Sabbath? They all had at least three different singers and no one came up with the idea to change the name (except Sharon Osbourne...)

If any band should change it´s name, it must be Metallica. They mostly kept theit line up but changed everything else.

Dan Nelson sounds quite good, there´s not much more to say which hasn´t been said above. What about Rob? German Rock hard talks of him as the "former (?) Guitar-Player".

I wouldn't be expecting another Matt Barlow though..he's amazing.

I will say that I'm expecting this album to be really heavy. I do hope it's thrashy. I'm expecting a STD and WCFYA mix. At least that's what I want too lol.

I'm hoping for the best. 'Thrax has never really made a bad album musically so hopefully it's decent and hopefully this Dan fellow can pull it off.
