It's that time... your worst albums of 2006

I forgot about Mindcrime II. That album was shit except for two songs. Ironically, those songs were the singles!

I only heard the Dio song, which was cool. But Im going to see them play the entire album live in a few weeks so I guess I'll pass judgement then.

At least Kenny Chesney has a sense of humour. Look at the CD's name.

Only in America would people buy that and not think: "Hang on!? He's taking the fucking piss!".

I thought that "American" song was a single?

If so, then I will not commend your taste in music. I may even flog it!

I have to agree with you on the new Mercenary album. Waaaay too many breakdown beats...:Smug:
Don't they pretty much have a new line-up for this album?
I checked out the "Making Of" the new album and they had a TGE poster in their studio which was really cool

I think they changed a few members, at least! I just thought 11 Dreams was brilliant, and this was mediocre. It used the good elements from before and took them to the point of sounding plain dumb.

They toured with NM over here last year, so that'll explain the poster. :)

I'm American was alright. But I really liked Hostage.
But there was still no Eyes Of A Stranger by any means what so ever!

Remember when Queensryche was a metal band?
Well, the new album was traditional heavy metal I thought. It just sounded old and tired. 83-88 were Queensryche's best years.
I think they are overrated as prog though. Their only album I would call prog is The Warning. Operation Mindcrime was pretty much pure heavy metal.

Fates Warning>Queensryche.

I would say 1983-1990 were the best years. "Empire" was fan-Fucking-tastic if you ask me.

P.S. In terms of prog, yes Fates Warning does it better than Queensryche. Queensryche crushes FW in the metal category, though.

Empire was alright. Some of the songs were good and some were way too boring and commercial sounding.

For metal, I like FW better. Awaken The Guardian is a masterpiece. Fata Morgana is an amazing song! I also love the intro of The Guardian, and the second track on that album reminds me of Mercyful Fate. FW were also sort of thrashy earlier on, which I love.

For prog, The Warning was great but I agree that FW were better. Perfect Symmetry, Parallels and Inside Out were all amazing. Zonder is also an amazing drummer.

Don't forget "No Exit"
That album was great too, but I liked John Arch's vocals better for that more thrashy/heavy metal sound. Ray Adler is a lot better for the prog. I'm not saying it wasn't a proggy album, but I think his vocals fit in better on the next 3 albums. Not that he didn't sound amazing though.
