It's time for Glenn to start a second festival ... light to AOR rock

I'd totally be into this, especially if the focus was more on melodic metal/hard rock. First,
Glenn could get Fifth Angel and Icon to reform, then in addition to Jaded Heart and Pretty
Maids mentioned earlier, I'd like to suggest:

Y&T
John Norum
Talisman
UFO
Seven Wishes
Biss
XYZ
Saga
Shy
Phenomena

Something like that...

Yeah, me too! Have you heard Jaded Heart's new one, Sinister Mind? I've been listening to it in my car today and I'd highly recommend it to the melodic hard rock fan, such as myself. :kickass:

Hope so. If you take the CD out of the tray my name is listed with all the others. ;)

All right so, whaddya think,

Thursday Night:
Rob Rock
Firehouse
Blue Tears
Loud and Clear

Friday Night (Headliner down)
Jeff Scott Soto (combo set similar to Jorn, but better with guests)
Jaded Heart
Bonfire
Crystal Ball
Brother Firetribe

Saturday Night:
Pretty Maids
Gotthard
Wig Wam
Danger Danger
Dogpound

Geez...so many to choose from!

it would be great to do an AOR melodic rock type of fest somehow, theres a lot of different bands id love to see along with music vids for each, of course Journey above all else but I know that would be hard for a fest so some smaller but still amazing bands-

-Robert Tepper (he had a few hits in the 80's with film soundtracks, great AOR voice, really dramatic and it would be a blast to see live)

[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=mUUSqSeqp2c[/ame]

-Danger Danger (definitely especially with Andy Timmons on guitar and if possible the amazing Paul Laine on vocals but Ted would be fine, that would rock!)
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=dRCCP1_09us[/ame]
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=1Sx4whBk6-U[/ame]

- Robin Beck (I think she is the best female vocalist in melodic rock AOR and has a great band backing her, would love to see her play live)
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=VlKxiHy06Wk[/ame]
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=skb4JXQCvrw[/ame]

-Hardline (w/ Johny Gioeli on vox & Neal Schon on guitar would be just insane, such a great band)
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=fcARPRLWMec[/ame]

-Alias reunion (get Fredi Curci and Steven back man those guys are melodic kings! Fredi is one of the best voices Ive ever heard)
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=jd0_FM-gbpg[/ame]
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZPr7xs_CG-0[/ame]

-House of Lords (they are totally active and still kick ass, James Christian is one of the best singers around and new guitarist Jimi Bell shreds)
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=L6XyuoFABEM[/ame]
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=ybhGoDAtsF4[/ame]

- WINGER (Id hear them anywhere even progpower fest, they can play anything, the newest album actually has some prog metal stuff, Kip is one of the best singers/musicians around, Reb is a monster guitarist and Rod is a drumming legend, would be killer)
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=eCczmgdIFd4[/ame]
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=XmPEoK41JMw[/ame]
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=n-f_go0KNfg[/ame]

- Stan Bush (w/ Barrage if possible, the god of AOR! the voice of 80's action soundtracks and of course the transformers, would be fun as hell you gotta admit)

What do you say Glenn? You like bands like the Eagles, Jimmy Buffet and Bon Jovi. I know none of those bands would consider a festival. But there other bands of a much smaller caliber and/or new that have alot of potential. They are just looking for a shot. Maybe something on a smaller scale. Yes, I know there are other festivals that handle some of this crossover like Nearfest, ROSfest and CalProg. But none your far south. Just a thought from another fan of more than metal.

Why Glenn? If Glenn started with just a dream, why not you! Go for it!

Gran Dia, nice picks! Robin Beck, I've heard of her, but I've never heard her music. She sounds great, so I need to check some of her stuff out. Her voice reminds of Vixen's original lead singer, which isn't a bad thing.

Thanks Edge! I am kind of new to Robin as well I just heard of her earlier this year and I was really impressed, great voice and really good songs if your into AOR, shes also married to James Christian of House of Lords and I believe on her latest album they do some stuff together I know the guitarist Jimi did some work on her new cd, rockin voice for sure!

Yeah, I knew that James was married to her, but I hadn't heard her sing. I believe she contributes a little to House of Lord's - World Upside Down release as well.

I'd pay $150 for a 3-day ticket!

Actually, we were joking last night at a black-metal show here that if Glenn -- or someone of Glenn's festival-planning caliber -- could arrange a good extreme-metal fest in the US, it'd be reallly cool. Too many of the extreme-metal festivals here have died from disorganization or just plain bad business dealings (Jack Koshit's fests, anyone?)

Paul.. are you Kidding? The Maryland Deathfest is superbly executed and organized!
