ITT: we read V for Vendetta

Yea I read the same thing in this months Wizzard. Talk about not selling out, haha, but also being pretty nutty. League of Ex. Gent. I can DEFINITLY see how he'd be pissed though, the movie didn't capture the comic at alllll. Far to happy jolly fun time. For instance: In the comic, Mr Hyde rapes the invisible man to death, right in the bum! haha.

Also, if I had money right now I'de get this, maaaaammmaaa miaaaaaaa:

warning: they will be black and white, it wasn't color untill it was compiled into a Trade Paperback/GN.

I prefer black and white a lot of the time
ever see bisleys abc warriors? (first thing he did on 2000ad)
beautiful ink

anyway, yep alan moore,
the league I thought was a good movie to watch with my young-un, haven't
read the comics, but I can't see anything he's written being suitable for kids
if it was literally interperated

he wants to separate himself completely with the american comics industry

lets face it theyve just handed over everything to hollywood for buckets of cash...they rake inmillions on merchandising licenes and fuck the integrity of the story
.look at the farce of judge dredd
never removed his helmet ever (except for the dead man) he was supposed to be really disfigured under there
sly stallone..as judge dredd...:Puke:
killing the angel family in about 1 min...piss
and fergie was a big fucking fat guy with a bat, he wasn't a scrawny coward

although I've heard that rebellion (games company that own 2000ad now) have plans to make an accurate dredd movie
(I started reading 2000ad at #1 when I was a nipper in belfast)

like I said before, frank miller had the right idea, he OWNS sin city
no-one would be allowed to do squat with it without his say so

genius as he is Alan Moore probably just lost everything to contracts

Yea I know exactly what your saying.

And speaking of all that, I think the biggest thing that makes a lot of comic book movies really suck, is the fact that the comic books are sooooo amazing. Amazing for any type of medium, but then when somone wants to make a movie out of it they turn it into somthing completely average and mundane. Usually, I enjoy the movies, and if I didn't have somthing so amazing to compare it to (the comics) I wouldn't judge it very harsh. These days I usually try and seperate the two and just enjoy the movie for what it is. Thats one reason I'm glade they named the Hellblazer movie Constantine, instead of Hellblazer. Sort of shows they understood it was somthing different, and couldn't even come close to the Swampthing/Hellblazer comics.

And I forgot to answer your first question haha, I havn't read those books you mentioned, but I'll try to find them ASAP if you say they are great.

or maybe theyre just holding off on a shit swamp thing movie
only read a couple myself(graphic novels of swamp thing)
haven't seen the constantine movie yet
trying to convince our kid that he won't be scared to see it haha
(he's watched matrix, terminator 2+3, and alien vs predator)

theyre like cover versions (the movies)
you know its never going to be quite the same
it can also work the other way of course, I never really rated the alien comics that much
and they were very much spawned by the movies (espec aliens)

you know we look like a couple of geeks here?
