ITT: We talk about how awesome Iommi's riff writing ability is.

hes stuck inside the box.

the pentatonic box.

but for not having his fingertips, he's written some great riffs.
no one's even come close to consistently writing 6 consecutive GREAT albums so heavily focused around the power chord. it's fucking mind boggling. not to mention some of the strongest stuff came in the last two albums.

I have his s/t solo CD and people looked at me like I was nuts. "There are popular singers on it!" Yeah, and TONY IOMMI.

man... Serpents Knight riffage > Black Sabbath riffage any day
;)

:worship:
...there wouldn't be SK riffage if there weren't Sabbath. I had ALL the LP's
and played it at any chance...along with sid, shrooms and bowls of hard dark green buds from Mexico got me through highschool. When Ozzy bailed I thought the world would end, but when Heaven and Hell came out, life was good. I saw that tour in '81 at the memorial stadium (outdoors)...I went out for a bit during Iron Man. The thing I remember most from that day is the solo bouncing off of Queen Anne hill. It was like - FU yuppie residents!:headbang:

This is one of the best releases in 2000. Of Course it features Iommi along with: Henry Rollins, Dave Grohl, Phil Anselmo(Pantera/Down, Superjoint Ritual), Serj Tankian(System Of A Down), Billy Corgan(Smashing Pumpkins/Zwan), Ian Astbury(The Cult/The Doors), Peter Steele(Carnivore/Type O Negative), Ozzy & Bill Ward(Sabbath/Solo) & Billy Idol.
