Cool thread!
I'm in the same process of writing my first album and i'm learning how to sing/scream properly, after getting the right balance between metal and electro instruments... it's now more than a year that I work non stop on it, and it's very difficult to stay focus and believe again and again that i'll finish it. It takes soooo much time...
Second thing I wanted to say is that I try to mix metal and electro D'n'B, and I have the chance to work with a friend in Paris that work in Zdar studio (go listen to his group: Cassius, for example "sound of violence"... he's a part of the french touch and friend and work with Daft punk, justice, Mr Oizo..etc). I've learned so much just being in this studio, all those vintages synths and recording gear... this place is really really cool.
You can see some "film" of Phoenix while recording there, it's really interesting to see them, and ear the comment from both Phoenix guys and Zdar (who coproduced the last album that was a grammy winner last year):
deadmau5 is great, but not so keen on the newer dubstep orientated stuff....french house is cool, kind of chilled out. when i think of french dance music these days, i think of this song though:

Was at the Space ( famous club on ibiza...) and it was just fucking intensive...really. I love metal ....... but house etc. is really something i would miss. If someone asks me if i would go to WOA or Ibiza...... Ibiza wins. Clearly....... and back from Ibiza WOA can come...
