Yeah the v2 makes the POD usable....EDM--what EQ settings are you using for the POD 5150 sound? I can't seem to get it right, seems like too much high end...also what cab setting? I've been using the v30s...
Well it depends I was refering to the tone I use when I plug the POD directly into the power amp of my 5150 (effects return, guitar plugged right into the POD input). When I play into the audio interface direct it is a different story here is the breakdown.
POD XT v2 Studio Direct tone 5150: Set With RG620X EMG 85 at Bridge
Criminal Head:
Drive at 12 O'clock
Bass at 5 O'clock
Mid at 1 O'Clock (I like mids if you don't set at 11 O'Clock)
Treb at 12 O'Clock
Pres at 12 O'Clock
Vol at 2 O'Clock
Mesa Cab
57 on axis 5%
EQ:
-1.7DB at 3.4k
POD XT v2 Live 5150 tone:
Used my Les Paul Custom with a 500T in the bridge.
Plugged into the POD XT input plugged left output into the effects return.
No mic and No cab, set POD XT to dest 4x12 (hold down tune turn select knob, then turn effect tweak to select the 4x12)
Criminal Head:
Drive 12 O'Clock
Bass full On (5 O'clock)
Mid 2 O'Clock (again I like mids dial to taste)
Treb 11 O'Clock (like you said to much high end)
Pres 12 O'Clock
Vol 2 O'Clock
EQ (THis is tricky cause the power amp of the 5150 routes around the EQ and gain sections but still alows you to adjust the Resonance and Presence)
POD XT EQ
-10.4 at 180h (sounds crazy huh read on you'll see)
+1.8 at 1.1k
-3.0 at 3.1K
On the 5150 I set the Resonance at 9 (this is were I get the bottom end you will see I cut it out of the POD XT EQ) Presence at 5 (I use this to bring in the tube sparkle instead of the POD XT fizz I cut in the EQ)
