Are any of you familiar with the band from Denmark called Jackal? They released an AMAZING album called "Vague Visions" in 1993 that believe it or not was recorded right outside Chicago (who knew?). I am slowly getting more of their stuff but its hard to track them down. Anyone else think they are great?

Q,

Yes, I have had Vague Visions (cassette copy) for four years. I finally found a copy of their CD at The End Records at PPIV last year. Lots of good songs. Virgin in Black is one of my favorites. Classic prog/power metal. Reminds me a bit of Artch (not John Arch of FW). Another classic power metal band (long gone) that few people have heard of.

Yes. I have all three of Jackal's albums.

"Rise" (1990)
"Vague Visions" (1993)
"A Safe Look In Mirrors" (1994)

Another great album I have is Narita "S/T" (1992) which has Jackal's singer (Brian Rich) on it. All of these I have are Japanese copies.

I thought that I was the only person in the world who actually dug this band. Vague Visions has to be in the top 5 of my all time favorites. I will have to pick up the Narita disc. One of those bands that shoulda been HUGE! I have always said it is a mix between Van Halen and Iron Maiden. Definate must have!
