Jesus christ. help me i deleted my reaper media folder and everything is gone, even..

i transferred everything over to a new computer, then wiped the old one. When i loaded up projects i had the same issue.

I learned my lesson... way to confident that i copied everything over.

NOPE!

Shit son. Same things happened to me when transferring some shit across from two comps. Lucky I hadn't wiped it from the original source before checking everything was where it should be.

Don`t write anything to that partition. As long as you don`t, that data is still there.
Run "GetDataBack" from http://www.runtime.org/ (best program for data recovery in my experience).
The trial allows you to see all the data that was deleted, so you can check to see if it is recoverable.

its all good i've restored what i could, i saved about 8 projects thank god. i lost bass and re-amps on 2. r.i.p

I always backup to actual discs. Being a tech for a long time makes you not trust hard drives for shit. They all die. ALL.

So shit when you haven't backed up.... I had installed the 5.1 update for Cubase and didn't notice it changed the default media save location to my C drive and did a whole EP with it recording tracks there. For some reason I kept forgetting to move the files or back them up. Something fucked up with my windows install so I reformatted and started reinstalling windows. Jumped in the shower while it happened and remembered after about 10 seconds that all the shit was on the C drive and I was gonna have to re-do the entire EP.

All I can say is thank fuck for Getdataback. Now I remember daily backups haha.
