John Howard, the filthy liar

Just out of interest, Sydo, do you support Howard in all of his policies, or is it mainly the economic and industrial side of things? I'm curious.

As much as I dislike Mr Howard, I have enormous respect for what he's achieved over the years, and I honestly think he'll be remembered as one of the great Prime Ministers. But I still hate the guy.

I remember (in the last 18 months) Peter Costello being questioned by a reporter regarding the "skills crisis" in engineering and trades skilss, and whther that would, through market forces, place upward pressure on wages in those sectors.

His response was that upward pressure would be "bad for business", and his "government would do everything in their power to prevent that from happening".

Yeah, way to go, market forces at work.

Still, I trust Howard less than anyone else at the moment and hurrah, he's got the top job. The amount of times this man and his government has tried to pull the wool over the Australian public's eyes is crazy. I don't get it. He seems to come through any steaming pile of shit smelling like roses and I don't understand how people keep ignoring it. So the only conclusion I can come to is people are either ignorant/stupid and don't realise how many times he's pulled a dodgy over us OR they do and at the end of the day they don't give a shit because whooptydoo, interest rates are down, the economy's afloat and the country isn't experiencing a recession. Sorry man, but that is so NOT a good enough reason to keep voting for Littly Johnny and the Liberals. He's a cunt. I'm not voting for a cunt.

Well said. :worship:

Absolutely not.

Generally it's only the economic and industrial issues I feel comfortable speaking about, because that's where my studies have previously led. It's only recently as I've began to get involved in the education system that I've been encouraged to rethink certain social issues; health, education, family support.. And I don't know where I stand there yet.

hahaha... no. Sure, I read him - but only rarely agree.
I prefer him over Jill Singer, but that really isn't saying much.
I suppose you know he worked as a political advisor to the Labor party during the late 1980's?

Kem said why I wanted to say, but couldn't quite figure out how in my tired state. :headbang:

Keep thinking about those issues and you may begin to realise why I hate the cunt's guts!
