Jorn-Dio 2 full tracks (Don't talk to Strangers/Invisible) if u want to listen

Since I'm not terribly familiar with Dio's catalog, (in fact, when I first heard BG's cover of Don't Talk to Strangers, I had no real idea who Dio really was, except for an old school singer.) I'm probably going to pick this up. If the songs are performed well by Jorn (lol how could they not be everything he does is a masterpeice i wish he would sing to me omg twilight-like fanboy) maybe I'll go back and check out some of Dio's stuff. As it is, I don't care to listen to most metal pre 1995 because I don't particularly care for the style or the sound, and large catalogs intimidate me.

At least try to listen to Holy Diver and The Last In Line...they are amazing!

im not sure what i expected...but for my own personal tastes, i really dont see the draw of this album.

and its not because i just only want to hear the originals...i honestly dont find those 2 covers very appealing.
at least for my own ears, i "dont talk to strangers" cover doesnt hold a candle to Blind Guardian's cover of it.

idk though...i guess he is just aiming at his fans who would prefer him sing than anyone, which i can understand.

IMO, Jorn's version BLOWS away Blind Guardian's "Don't Talk To Strangers"

You answered your own question. Your focus is on the music. The majority of Jorn's fans focus on his voice regardless of what music happens to be playing in the background.

+1.

Not to mention, the players and production behind Jorn are A+. Sonically, the samples above just blow away the original classics (1983 - Holy Diver and 1984 - The Last in Line) which were created when tape-based systems were the standard for recording and distributing music.

In terms of Dio's thespian style and ability to convey the deepest emotions, Jorn's the next best thing to the original. But Jorn also puts his own trademark on the covers. I agree with Zod regarding preferring to listen to the original artists over a half-ass cover for tribute disc, but when it comes to doing covers, Jorn is just a different animal.

While I really love Jorn's voice, and think he's a fantastic vocalist, I fail to see the appeal of this disc. If I want to hear Dio's music, why would I possibly want to hear it sung by someone other than Dio?

Well G I totally disagree with you, its an awesome cd!!!!!
