JSX + 6L6

damn, I just put 6L6 in the JSX, and holy fuck!

I really liked the amp with el34, but I frickin LOVE it with 6L6!

the crunch channel lost a wee bit of the marshally bite (it's still really "well tuned 800-like"), but both types of tubes sound equally great for the crunch channel. the Ultra channel sounds way better now.

before I had difficulties to find the right balance between treble and presence cause the tone became a bit fizzy with higher settings.

the 6L6 cured that, it's all smooth modern grind now!

Clean was great with el34 and is also great with 6L6.

Some A/B comparison clips would be really interesting if you have the time...
Does the JSX have a switch to set the bias like the Recto, or do you have to set it manually?

If you miss the EL34 bite, you could try KT77s. Much better low end than EL34s, while retaining some of the EL34 bite.

It has a switch, and also an adjustment pot, which is pretty f'ing cool I might add
