Just fried my Maxon overdrive

A couple of tips on using OD pedals:

#1) ALWAYS use batteries. Hard to fuck 'em up that way. They also sound better than adaptors.

#2) Go to your local dollar store for 9 volt batteries. You can get Panasonic non-alkaline (which sound better yet) for a buck apiece. You can get some really shitty sunbeam ones for 2 for a buck.

Stop making excuses you cheap motherfuckers!!

POD adapter is 9V AC isn't it?

Youve probably fried the diode...

I wouldn't have thought so - diodes are designed to be subjected to reverse current. It shouldn't damage them.

You'll have killed the electrolytic capacitors, they do fry if the current goes the wrong way. OpAmp chips don't like it up 'em either.
 
It's probably the opamp. That's what fried when I did it, and that's what I usually hear about happening when people accidentally use a Line 6 adapter.
