Just got a distressor

Just cruised on down to the Boston GC to pick up my new Distressor, I haven't had any time to really use it yet but I ran some bass and a few lines of vocals through it and DAMN what a difference. I was somewhat afraid of the thing just being shrouded in gearslutz hype but it really did deliver that "wow." effect. It makes things just sound so fat and "substantial".

I'm stoked.

Excuse my ignorance, but what are the application for the distressor? is a compressor right?

It's essentially a compressor that 'emulates' a wide variety of compression types. Extremely versatile, extremely colourful and contains certified, a-grade mojo.
