just when I though they couldn't get more annoying....

Years ago, I tried some kareoke game..I think it was on the Nintendo system. Anyway, two girls were at our practice, kinda flirting with me, and the drummer,(not groupies exactly...too bad!)and they say.."you're the singer, come on! Sing something for us!" Finally, getting tired of the badgering, I sang Wind Beneath My Wings...only because of the looks they were giving me, mind you. But, I sang it like Krusty the Clown did in that one Simpsons episode, when Krusty had his comeback special, singing it with Bette Midler. Two of my bandmembers got the joke. The girls, not suprisingly, did not. They called me an ass, and so forth. I didn't need a computer ranking/critiqueing me. I don't have to have it tell me I stink, my band'll tell me that, thank you!

 Classic!

Yeah, pick up about 30 cheap used controllers too. I swear to christ, fuck that game.

Dude, you can get both collections for ps2 as well. Much better controller in my opinion...

I got the original 8 megaman collection for my ps2 like THE day it came out....god it brings back memories....

Apparently, just as delusional kids think Guitar Hero makes them great guitarists, the US Army thinks that people who excel at Halo would make good soldiers. Possibly. But we don't have rechargeable shields or sticky grenades.

I don't think that the U.S. Army really thinks that. It is just a tactic they probably use to get more people to enlist. The army has been targeting "gamers" with their advertising for quite a few years now, this is no more than another way to make this target audience feel good about enlisting.

Absolutely agreed that the ps2 controller is WAY better for mega man. That was my point about the gamecube controller sucking and thus it flying across my room (literally). I need to get a ps2 thouh haha.

Ps2's are like pretty damn cheap now too. I got a ps3 now, but only because my folks got it for me as a gift because I will graduate from college after this semester.

I bought a PS2 in December because my brother and sister hijacked my WII.
I'm not a big gamer, but there are some really great games for the PS2. God of War being my favorite. Considering you can find most of the games for dirt cheap, I would definitely recommend getting one.

I can actually see how being a Halo god would help somebody in the army. I played Halo pretty seriously a few years back, and to be among the best takes insane amounts of teamwork, smart decision making (flanking and staying 1 step ahead of the enemy), and most importantly, overall awareness of what's going on at all times. Things are obviously nowhere near the same, but I still think it heightens your reflexes and overall awareness in real life.

Guitar Hero is a great game and I have nothing against people who enjoy playing it. When they start saying that they're better than real guitarists, I draw the line. It is nowhere near the same as a real musician.

As for what Ken said, sure, you can possibly play in front of a crowd with a real band, but most musicians spend shitloads of time isolated in their rooms practising licks and never make it in front of a crowd. Succeeding in music is difficult. Guitar Hero can be just as social as a real band, and videogamers do perform in front of crowds too, once they're good enough. They also enter tourneys and compete for money.

Screw Megaman X to hell and back!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that once I cried from losing at an area 500+ times.. I cried.. lol

Guitar Hero is an outrage to all guitarists. It's sad to be talking about a band or guitarist you like and someone talks about you with them and you ask what their favorite song is and it's the song from Guitar Hero and thats the only song they heard of theres. In a way it's removing the Ignorance of a lot of kids my age but it is also corrupting them.

I can play Paranoid with one hand blindfolded, solo and all.. but on Guitar Hero I can only get 80% on medium on my second try at the game.. and don't even get me started on Metallica's One.. why in the hell would the makers of the game make stupid shit like that.. why?

Oh yeah and it's funny how so many kids my age now have their favorite band as Dragonforce.. for that I only have one video to show them..

That is just really sad.. lol.

What's funny is that in my music shop we have the 'Official Guitar Hero Guitar Transcriptions' book in the window and so many kids stop and 'ZOMG!!1! GITAR HERO BOOK I SHULD TODALLY GET IT COS I"M AWESOM AT GUITAR HERO & I"D ROCK AT GITARR ITD BE SOOOOOOOOOSIICK TO LERN THE SONGS ON A REAL GEETARR!!!1!1'

And I just laugh at them (not really cos that wouldn't be good business practice) when they open it up and see the many, many black dots in most of the songs...

 omg that is hilarious!!!!!

Indeed! And they really genuinely think that the game is really, really close to real playing and are shattered to realise that real guitar playing actually takes work and practice...

The other crazy one is when mums come in looking for a guitar for their kid and say 'Oh you know that new computer game, the guitar one? Well my kid loves that, so they shouldn't have any trouble picking up the guitar should they?' its just ridiculous!

Is Jordan really so difficult that it's worthy of being an unlockable bonus track? Just wondering; I don't know shit about playing guitar.
