Katatonia has cancelled the FEST

"katatonia cancelled, don't know why"
This sucks major crap

The only decent excuse for cancelling is that they're planning a full scale North American tour.

there must be a good reason, and im sure sooner or later we'll all hear it....i just hope nothing is wrong with anyone in the band, that everythings ok...
sigh...i was listening to LFDGD and getting ecxited about metalfest 'cause im ordering tickets today when i first read that they have cancelled- im turning it off and going to smoke a cigarette and mope!

He had nothing to say about a tour.

Don Decker (another promoter for metalfest) said that he has no knowledge of Katatonia cancelling. I will hold out hope until I see something posted on the website from the band themselves.

Decker doesn't do much with the bigger bands i dont think. that is the impression that i've gotten. its handled mostly by koshnick when it comes to headliners.

oh well, there are still a shit load of good bands playing, like mine hehe. no limbonic art, sirius, zyklon, anathema, darkane, soilwork, there are tons of great bands to see.

What the fuck is up with this cancelling shit? Unless it is for a full US tour I'm extremely pissed and even at that I'm still pissed they cancelled last minute. With no more than a couple weeks before metalfest they just now finally decide to cancel. Opeth and Amorphis were supposed to be there too, but they cancelled a couple months ago. As it is now, what was a very promising metalfest is hardly worth going to anymore (no offense to those ho are performing). Last year seeing Opeth and Katatonia live for the first time and meeting Jonas afterwords was one of the most thrilling momnts of my life. I was hoping to experience this again, but now that will not be happening. I think Katatonia definitely owes their fans an explaination.
