The only CD of theirs I have is "Viva Emptiness", which I gather long time fans are, at best, mixed about. What is the best place to start in their discography? Gracias.

Better than what I remembered but still not doing a great deal for me. If I find them very cheap one of these days maybe I'll pick 'em up and give them more of a chance.
I've always felt it quite regrettable that I couldn't get more into their later stuff seeing as I consider BMD to be of the best albums ever.

I rarely listen to the other Katatonia albums I dun diddle have, though I do plan on picking up those I'm missing one of these days. Probably when I feel like listening to The Cure and having a good cry.

"Last Fair Deal Gone Down" is the only album of theirs I really like... wish they would've continued with that lighter sound... the new one is pretty bland stock metal.
