Katatonia's "Dead End Kings"

Ugh talk about drudging up old memories....I had a chance to see them at BraveWords & Bloody Knuckles and wasn't familiar with them so I went back to my hotel room before there set. After reading about them I started listening to the music and was floored and kicked my self for missing there set.

That said, I'm looking forward to the new release and a chance at redemption.

I saw that show. I setup at that fest. They were amazing live... but then you don't wanna hear that now do you? :Spin:

I hope you don't mean you were reading about them and listening to them in your hotel room while they were playing.

This disc has really grown on me. I typically don't care for music that is dominated by a sense of melancholy. But for whatever reason, this disc has kept me captivated.

Are you familiar with the previous disc, Night Is The New Day? I feel the style is very similar to Deadend Kings, but I prefer it.

Night Is The New Day is one of my favorite albums. It's on spotify, I think, give it a shot. It's dark, but it's not sad, IMO. It's really just really good music.

Not sad? How can anyone think that album is not sad? It's fucking depressing man :waah: And I guess that's why I love it :p Fantastic album, my favourites being "Day and then the Shade", "The Promise of Deceit", "Liberation" and "The Longest Year". Hell, all songs are good. And sad! ;)

As for the new album,so far I haven't really got into it...guess I need to listen more..
