and totally NOT a one trick poney, which someone tried to convince me of. i just started reading 'demon box' today and i am very into it.

i've never read any kesey outside the one everyone's read. but I remember trying to read a joseph heller story after the amazingness of Catch-22 and being disappointed.
 
yea see, i am totally not disappointed with 'Demon Box' so far. i am really into it and almost missed my train stop. his tone of voice is excellent and he really has a way with character building and explanations of tension.
 
one thing i liked about cuckoo's nest was how all the acid-influenced shit--like the fog and stuff--blends right into the book, and until you're halfway through you don't pick up on how weird it is and has been. does he work stuff like that into demon box? (i don't mean hallucinations, per se)
