I made a quick drum loop using SD 2.0 overheads and slate Kick10Z1+Snare5Z1Crack since i know this is recommended for deftones style type drums.
I EQ'd the HAT and Cymbals slightly and sent everything to a DRUM bus loaded with Softtube FET 1176 COMP. I threw a little Altiverb on the drum bus as well and this is what i came up with.

I then threw my drump loop on deftones song SEX TAPE and this is what i got.

I think it sounds pretty nice. The KICK is extremely low heavy, but it works well in the mix. I know it would sound terrible in other mixes (probably distorted) but for soft rock i think it works plus i cant really reference lows to well on the monitors im using right now.
(please let me know if there are any copyright problems by me posting this, the slate samples are extremely processed i doubt anyone would chop it up, but who knows)
