Anybody like these guys? i saw them in concert with soilwork a while back but never really got into them. i recently listened to their cd "alive or just breathing" and i really like it. kinda has a shadows fall type thing to it. its good stuff. what do you guys think of them?

Check AFTeRSHOCK. Some members of killswitch engage used to play on AFTeRSHOCK before the band broke up. They are kinda hard to find but i believe Goodlife records stills carries some of their stuff.

Killswitch engage is nice but AFTeRSHOCK was a superior band, it had a more original sound to it, it had less hardcore annoyances ( like pour vocalist, and do not say he is not that bad because if he is the same guy they started with i have inside information ( a friend who personally knows the band ) who said they wanted to get rid of him cause he screams and sings like hell) and it doesnt tries to sound like melodeath/hardcore mix so much ( but it still has melodic stuff to it ).

Maybe among the lines of Living Sacrifice but much less weird than Living sacrifice.

i actually went through the same situation ....saw em live with soilwork ...wasn't into the music (tho they played a great set overall....lots stage presence) then about 4 weeks later i downloaded the album to give it another chance and i was hooked....

Yeah, the new album Alive or Just Breathing is good. They are about the only current band on Roadrunner Records that I like. What the hell happened to Roadrunner Records? Damn they have some shitty bands on the label! About the new singer, he's some guy from some hardcore group. I hope that he doesn't fuck up the singing. I really liked Jessie's singing, to bad he's gone!

the vocals are actually good, its too bad the singer left. at least they found a new one.
