It's already been announced here that Kiss' Alive IV release will finally be released in August.
But adding to that, Paul Stanley has stated on Kissonline.com that the band is thinking of going back into the studio with Bob Ezrin to record a new album. How about that? Never saw that coming...the endless farewell continues...
In my last update I mentioned that the band might sign to Spitfire Records for future studio albums. I know for a fact that Gene Simmons has met with the President of Spitfire, but what that will lead to is anyone's guess.
It will depend on the size of the cheque no doubt! Expect Tommy Thayer to replace Ace Frehley permanently at some point. He most recently stepped in for Ace at the band's appearance at the anniversary show for American Bandstand.

I hope Kiss keep going, even though they are lecheroussenileoldmoneyhungrywhores, they are the best live band ever, and I want to see them again!!!

You know your career is in a nosedive when you sign to Spitfire Records :) (Yes, im fully aware loads of awesome bands are on Spitfire, but lets face it, they arent gold or platinum sellers anymore exactly, are they?)
Anyway, im sure Gene will end up owning the company or something :)

I hope they do another album as well, theres too few bands around now like Kiss!

If this happens, I just hope with all my heart that they take off the makeup. Or at least make new makeup for Eric and Tommy. Them posing as Ace and Peter would suck. Personally I'd prefer no makeup though.

I say bring back Vinnie though :D But since he just went to court against Kiss last year, I doubt that will happen haha!

Alive IV... *yawn*

KISS will always be my favourite band, but these days they remind me of a blind old sheepdog, because the kindest thing to do would be to take them into the back paddock, shoot them and put them out of their misery .

Everything since the reunion has been half-arsed at best, and they stopped listening to the fans a loooonnnggg time ago. If, however, they must carry on (and let's face it, Paul's gotta pay for that divorce somehow), I agree with Spiff. Bring back Bruce and then they might just salvage some dignity.

Yep I think the best thing would be to bring back Bruce, scrap the makeup, and continue where they left off with Carnival Of Souls. (But maybe head slightly back more to Revenge type sound)

That would be the best. Kiss to me always had more dignity, better musicianship, more of a metal sound and show and most of all, less crap surrounding them without the makeup than with it (not counting the early years up until Alive II).

From the solo albums onwards they went downhill and just became a circus show for a while. Then they hit back in the early '80s, were great for ages... then with the Reunion Tour hit back well with the makeup I think, reminded me of the Alive II days, then just like after Alive II it all came crashing down again.

Yeah I *LOVE* Revenge.

My favourite Kiss studio albums are ALL non-makeup albums except for Creatures, Rock N Roll Over and Kiss.

My faves would have to be:
1. Creatures Of The Night
2. Rock N Roll Over
3. Asylum
4. Revenge
5. Hot In The Shade
6. Kiss
7. Crazy Nights
8. Lick It Up
9. Carnival Of Souls
10. Hotter Than Hell

That's at the moment anyway heh.

I hated Carnival Of Souls.... Im going to go find it and give it another listen now!

I thought that'd be the type of album you'd like actually hehe. Coz its very heavy. The first 3 tracks are the highlight for me I think. And Jungle.
