Hey guys

Im gonna buy one or the other, just for use at home for recording (Merry xmas to me  ). I know the Rev Jr gets great feedback here, people love it and i'm leaning towards it, but i can't seem to find any real info or clips on the Krankenstein Jr. Anyone out there heard/played on or the other?

Cheers

Phil

Hey, Phil. I currently own a Rev Jr. and about two years ago owned a Krankenstein head and Cabinet. Let's just say that the Krankenstein didn't last too long. I think I had it for a couple of months (basically the time span that a band I was recording took). Really tight sounding, but very thin and though most will tell you the Rev. is a one-trick pony, the Krankenstein is even more so. I find it functioned best for really fast tech stuff where other amps lost their clarity and when layered with other amps, specifically a 5150 or a Dual Rectifier. If you already have one of those amps and will be keeping it, get a Krankenstein, it'll add some deadly tones to your arsenal. If you don't and you're looking for a more "all around" amp, go with the Revolution series.

cheers dude, i currently have a 6260 (altho not a 5150 it gives me good similar tones) and a 333. i was looking for more of an all round amp, and something to layer with the amps i have currently have. Looks like the rev jr will be the go. All though i mainly do metal, it would be good to have a few options when it comes to rock, pop punk, etc. And im sure ive seen a heap of good tones for different styles on this forum from the rev jr.

Cheers

Phil
