Ladies and Gentlemen...please make it stop!

yeah, remake no less. They are going to milk/ruin every single franchise.

For MGM, among those is a continuation of Bond and Pink Panther sequels, an announced remake of "Fame" and a not-yet-announced remake of "RoboCop," possibly in 3-D. "'RoboCop" would be great in 3-D, as would something we're hoping to announce soon," said Parent. This also includes "The Hobbit," which will be filmed in two parts released in 2011 and 2012, and maybe more after. "There's 80 years between the end of 'The Hobbit' and the beginning of 'The Lord of the Rings,'" said Sloan. "Think of the franchise." One other idea MGM was toying with was more "Rocky" films. Parent asked for a show of hands from the audience who might be in to that. Though there were a few very enthusiastic responses, many kept quiet

Oh and just for the record? Who wants a remake of FAME? Movie sucked back in the day.

The Hobbit in live action would be great... but as long as they cast Ian McKellan again as Gandalf, and Peter Jackson directs.

EDIT: Looks like Guillermo del Toro is directing.

I heard that the agreement was as long as Ian McKellan is still alive he'll play Gandalf.

I could be mistaken.

That's what I hear. I'm not sure if it's a remake or a sequel, though.

They were gonna remake The Blob, too. Thankfully they scrapped that.

oh, by the way... they're remaking Plan 9 from Outer Space.

See, now a PLAN 9 movie could actually work. Plan 9 is considered the worst film ever made, because it was a badly made film. NOT because it was a bad story concept for a film.

Bringing the dead back to life to conquer the earth isn't a bad concept. Ed Wood was just such a shitty filmmaker. It has garnered the moniker because of the filmmaking and often people equate that with a bad story, which I do not.

A seriously made movie based on that story might actually be able to be pulled of successfully.

I think the shittiness is what makes it awesome!
