Last CD you bought

Quite a few, I suppose. Apparently labels that have licensed to album are allowed to change the packaging. I'll just stick with the originals on Napalm Records!

Me too...I have all Vintersorg albums released by Napalm, but still is weird, like the brazilian ed. of Till Fjälls that I found on a garage sale (quite beautiful by the way) or the Solens Rötter digi... as a collector item, those editions can be interesting, doesn't?

I found today a Municpal Waste on EP. "Waste 'em all"
The record is red.
I don't know if it was worth something or not, but bought it anyway.
I found it at a store we have here called "Goodwill".
I found my first KEEL T-shirt there along with loads of others good shit!

of course its interesting. even promos.

too bad my "original" copy is broken :/ but at least the booklet is autographed! :p

Oh yeah, even more the promos, they're rarer than the original ones hehe.

Ohhhh a signed booklet. Are you telling us or bragging? Or both? :p

About time you bought Storm and Moonsorrow's I'd say :) . Storm's lyrics are actually what got me into learning Norwegian. And there was some controversy with that album, Kari Rueslåtten didn't want any anti-Christian lyrics, but they included them in "Oppi Fjellet." Here they are:

En grusom død venter hver en mann / A cruel death awaits for each man
Oppi fjellet oppi fjellet / Up in the mountains
Som ikke hyller vårt faderland / Who doesn't hail our fatherland
Oppi fjellet oppi fjellet

Ja vi er norske og stolte av det / Yes we are norwegian and proud if it
De kristne kjøtere vil jo ikke se / The christian bastards won't see
Oppi fjellet oppi fjellet / Up in the mountains

I really love this album though ( Review ), my favourite songs are "Håvard Hedde" and "Nagellstev," they are simply awesome, especially the latter. Kari Rueslåtten's later works are pretty good too :) .

i knew about it, read somewhere....maybe on metal archives...
i was searching for this album for quite a long time, very happy to have it in my collection now :p

i haven't been buying much lately, saving up for ammunition for the next american revolution, and getting ready for economic collapse.

This country is folding quickly, hell will break loose soon.

The end

I don't think "hell" will break loose, stop watching the news, they're making you paranoid IMO :p . But I agree it's wise of you to save money. Anyhow, if you have too much trouble come here to Costa Rica and teach English, or work in a call centre. Lots of USonians do that actually.

is there on the net any cd-value-calculator or something like this?
it's not for selling, just for curiosity....
some cd are sold very high on ebay, and i was wondering if they really worth that price...i mean, i'm speaking of some cds i have.... like first presses, limited editions and things like that...
just curious about what i have between my hands :kickass:

^ Hmmm no I don't know of any. But which item do you have? We can help set-up a price and then buy it :p .

NOOOO! i don't wanna sell
it's just that i was searching ebay last day, and i found mithotyn first press of in the signs of the ravens at 35 euro, more or less 45 $ and i said "whaaaat?"
or for example the limited edition of impaled nazarene latex cult, the one with the metallic box, i found it at 50 euros at a cd-fair :yow:
i've a nice edition of in extremo verhert und angespien too, never seen another like this one anywhere, a big digipack with double cd....
and so many other that don't come to my mind now...

i was wondering if all have gone mad or those are the right prices....
i don't collect lps, they need too much care (i'm quite chaotic) and they cost too much in my opinion....i didn't suppose that cds could reach a such price....at least, the one that are not so rare....

this happening is what manly made me decide not to collect lps:
i'm big mercyful fate/king diamond fan....some years ago i found this beautiful lp, called nuns have no fun....i asked for the price...the guy told me "300.000 lire" we had still the lira, into euro is about 150 €...
i asked him a simple question "and what i do if i buy it, i'm at home and i break or scratch the lp??? i can kill myself, right????"
the guy replied "this lp is not for being listened....just for collection"
i replied to him "do you think i'm so stupid to spend 150 euros to buy a thing that i will never use??? no way"
i will never understand why people buy lps for collection, spend so much money, and the put them on the shelf to collect dust :zombie:

Simply put, LPs are awesome. I hope someday you'll know the pleasure of owning LPs, young Padawan.

If you really like a band, you'll have every version of every album in every format available. I myself have two Borknagar LPs (Borknagar and Empiricism), and they sound great. Those are two of the few that I have actually listened to, the rest I only open them and that's it. Why? Well because I either have that same album as a CD or an Mp3. I'm a collector and I love LPs (just check my list), it's truly a passion. I am very fond of all my LPs, they're all special in their own way.

I hope that someday you can enjoy that pleasure. Oh, and LPs do have a better-sounding-quality than anything else, so you know.

You really do need to take special care of LPs, specially in tropical countries where the dust never seems to end :erk: . I have my digis, DVDs in a closet, just to keep them away from dust and sunlight. I have my jewel-case CDs (and Mangas) covered with some towels.

€35 is really nothing if you like the band, I've paid lots more than that for an item (Dark Tranquillity's Skydancer LP comes to mind, it cost about... hmmm... I think it was ca. 800 Norwegian Crone (€90, $120). But I've paid more for other stuff, definitely.

Even though I don't know the band, the price for the Mithotyn CD seems fair to me :) , first editions usually cost about that.

wow dude, the only LP I own is the limited white version of Ulver's Shadows of the Sun, because it was in the special package and I wanted the limited grey t-shirt (and signed photograph)! :)
I don't even have a record player but I bought it anyway, hehe. doubt it'll sound better than the cd, though.

i'm too chaotic, i say you....
i'm able to put two or three cds into the same jewelcase sometimes....and then i find empy cases and start to shout up and down the house "where the fuck is myyyyyy cdddddd???????" i'm idiot, i do chaos and hope that someone resolves it......i care of my stuff even if it can seem the contrary, it's just that i have my own method
i will not take all the care that an lp needs... so it's better i don't have any....
i don't have a lp recorder too...so....
and what i like of cds is that you can bring them with you everywhere, you can listen in the car, without any particular care, just put them in your bag....
