Ásmegin - Arv.

At first I wasn't impressed , but still I thought it could grow on me, and Arv did it.

I read on an interview that Arv is just a filler, the "real" album is still on the works but I love it now, specially Fandens Mælkebøtte, Hiertbrand (my fav), Arv and En Myrmylne.

Edit: I forgot to mention: Solefald - Black for Death. The best of them so far IMO. I can't stop to hear it, specially Allfathers, Queen... and Sagateller.

I prefer Red for Fire. It's soo fucking good. Black for Death just never lived up to the high expectations I had after Red, I guess.

I hate high expectations, they ruin everything.

I've only given Ásmegin - Arv 2-3 listens so I guess I will like it more eventually. I wish Lars Nedland would sing on it, Hin Vordende Sod & Sø was fantastic.

As for Red for Fire / Black for Death I like Black a tiny bit more, but both of them are awesome.

i prefer red for fire too... :p

i've listened to arv one time and as first impression i didn't like it....i mean, i would not even recognise to group if i wasn't sure that it was an asmegin cd....so...a big delusion....but i'll give it some other chances of course

Same here, just I prefer Black over Red more (for now).

From time to time, my 'fav' albums from certain bands changes a little bit, or I would say, I hear some more, then I hear the others a lot. Now I'm listening a lot to VFTSG and CG, at least more than the rest. From Solefald, I was listening Neonism, Pills and Red constantly until Black landed. now I hear less Pills, more Black.

Yeah that happens to me too, right now I listen a lot to PAAI, but I used to hear RF a lot. The music with these types of bands is so diverse! :headbang:

One question:

Does anyone know if the Vintersorg CDs that are for sale at http://www.theomegaorder.com/ are European or US versions? I don't plan to buy US versions so I'd appreciate if anyone can help on this.

just received:
Brian Eno - Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks
Michael Stearns - Planetary Unfolding
two amazing ambient masterpieces.

and the original soundtrack of Unreal Tournament 3

the problem is the taxes. they will add the difference you would have to pay in your home country. otherwise i'd order all my cds from over there...

yes i know...we have a tax calle IVA which is 20% of the value...if the package is small and you're lucky the customs don't stop and check it, if the package is big at 99% they will check it and make you pay the tax... :erk:
they only method to bypass the problem seems to have written the word "present" on the package, but as you can imagine not every shop is willing to do that :Smug:

We pay 19% since 3 years or something, but it was 16% previously.
theendrecords writes "present" on the packages but even that is no guarantee that the tax groups does not take a look anyway.

wow, prices are really low....maybe i should start to buy cds from america :loco:

The Century Media store also has great offers. But The Omega is actually an exception, you should really visit when they're doing the Christmas sale. e.g.: Exodus "Shovel Headed Killing Machine" European digi at $3!

Haha what are you complaining about?

I still have to pay taxes whether I order from the US or Europe or even if I buy them here, since the shops here order from the US and Europe and pay taxes too. So in the end I end paying $31+ for two European ltd. CDs.

And you have Nuclear Blast mail-order! Ah I wish I could order Die Apokalyptischen Reiter's Licht ltd. lamp, but really the taxes here would be too much.

In every sense related to Metal, it sucks to live in Costa Rica (and most of Central-America for that matter).

EDIT:

Oh, und alles gute zum Geburtstag Thidrek! :D

Bought today:

Edge of Sanity - Crimson II - Dan Fucking Swanö. Need I saw more. Combined with Crimson make some of the best death metal ever.
Psycroptic - Isle of Disenchantment - Debut from the Australian death metal band. Highly reccommendable, even for non-fans of death metal.
Tortoise - TNT - One of the pioneers of 'post-rock' music. Great stuff.
