I know I'm gonna get grief for this... but, why not give Cherone a try?!?
As much as he gets slagged for his time in Van Halen - and seeing that I've never listened to "Van Halen III", I'm not gonna comment - Cherone is still an incredible vocalist. Extreme was one of the more underrated bands out there, even if their glam period was a bit embarrassing. Check out their final album "Waiting For The Punchline" as an example.
Cherone has the pipes where he could attack the Bush-era material rather well, though I admit I'd question how he could handle the Belladonna-era tracks. I don't believe that he was much of a falsetto singer (and I've not ignored the fact that Nuno Bettencourt did some vocals as well), but I'm sure there is some sort of workaround.
yep, I always like to see Phil with Anthrax (Dethroned Emperor was cool). He's one of my favourite vocalists! And he's kinda friend of Scotty and Charlie. And work with him would be good, cause he isn't junkie anymore.
