I just got an email with this title. I'm all for privacy and shit, but seriously shouldn't there be an Internet police who hunt these people down and send them to jail permanently? Or just kill them?

I never get any of these. Seems my provider is doing a good job in filtering them out. Even before it never bothered me that much. Just hit delete and forget.

Most of this garbage goes to my junk boxes, so I don't have to deal with it. The ones that get by...CTRL+select...Delete. But I'd rather have this stuff than the actual paper/snail-mail junk mail crap that fills up my mail box several times a week.

LOL yeah I just angrily hit the report spam button, but I don´t think my extra anger sends enough energy to blow his computer up

GMail tip: if you're concerned about someone (a petition, a subscription, a purveyor of adult entertainment, a forum...) giving out your email address, you can put +SOMETHINGOROTHER between the end of your username and the sleepycat symbol (example: Name@GMail.com becomes Name+Tag@gmail.com) and the mail will still be sent to you. You can use this to automatically route and label email, among many other things, but there's another use that's often overlooked: if you suspect that someone has been less than discreet with their address book then this trick can let you know who let your address into the wrong hands. (There is a slight problem sometimes, as some sites scrub + or think that it means 'invalid address', but when it works it's very handy.)
