Left4Dead

For me, the thrill of finding a team of people you don't know and having the chemistry to cooperate really well together (playing on expert) is highly rewarding. Also, I'm a huge fan of the zombie genre.

The reason it kicks ass is the teamwork and nothing more than blasting the fuck out of shit the entire time. I even really enjoy playing the single-player mode where the other 3 members of the team are AI. It's just freakin' fun to play. The infected people (I call them zombies just because...well...I just do) are not like your run-of-the-mill brain-dead, slow-moving and easy-target zombies. They are quick and there's a TON of them. Makes for some very exciting game play and I have to say, I have been completely surprised on a couple of occasions so far, just like a really good horror flick.

i've got the early 'demo', you have to find another pirate server to play online, with the other pirates.

I may have to buy this game though, brilliant time waster.
my critique of the game is in the other game thread.
I forgot to mention my annoyance of the reverb on the special monsters.
when the witch is outside you should not hear her voice reflected from concrete walls of a basement. wtf!?

Valve has, sadly, always lacked in the sound department. It usually seems to just 'get the job done'.

For a game that raises the bar in sound, check out Battlefield: Bad Company.

Oh MAN do I hate the sound thing in L4D as well. The Boomers....you hear them like they are fucking right next to you, but they are actually 20-30ft away around a corner, down some stairs and behind a door :lol: a little exaggerated but people that have played know what I'm talking about.

Yep. :erk:

I tried it out quickly and really couldn't see the awesomeness. To me it looked just like any cheap, übersimple FPS with no hooks to get me interested. But seeing how many people have loved it, there's probably more to it. Wanna help me out and tell me why it's so good? :)

i had the same conclusion. Although i must say, i love the concept - but the game could have been abit more deep. Shooting zombies and running gets abit repetitive.

love zombie games though, i can't wait for dead rising 2.

@006: Totally agree.

I'm really over this game. All of my friends bought it as soon as it was released for some reason, and that's more or less the only reason I did too. Only took a few days to annihilate the game, and then kick some arse in Versus mode. Now there's really no point to play again.. it's just a simple zombie shooter, and if you're not playing with friends, forget about it - most people on the net are tards who'd just as soon shoot you as they would go off solo, get pounced on or strangled and then blame you for it.
