Left4Dead

Anyone else remember the awesome perfection of Goldeneye on the n64 and rekon FPS games are way too far up their own arse nowadays?

I just think its funny when someone tells you oh man the story in this new fps is awesome!!!

Then im like"...hmm ok what do you do different then?"
Then they say "oh ummm you shoot people!....But theres all this extra shit , man theres nothing else like this!"

Like timeshift for example...Really standard game. The whole time travel thing is raped and becomes so incredably boring, i mean shit i wasnt even playing the game and i had to say to my friend dude you must be bored out your mind this game is aids.Talk about a gimmick.

Sorry old school folks, Call of Duty 4 is the greatest FPS I've played, bar none - and the story is incredible, trust me, it's so immersive and there's really fantastic characters and drama, and many genuinely emotional moments.

Red v Blue was the best thing that ever came out of that game.

Not a big FPS fan personally. The core genre hasn't really changed since Quake (when we went fully 3d and the vertical axis became more of a factor). The best thing to ever happen to it was the Rainbow 6 series of tactical first person shooters. Rogue Spear could quite well have been the very best first person game ever made (I'm not a Deus Ex fan so... bite me or something).

Left 4 Dead got boring less than a week after I got it, finished it a bazillion times, had some fun as the infected, then never played it again.

Deus Ex gameplay wise is nothing spectacular (I'd even go so far as to say kinda crappy), it's the story and more importantly the incredibly thoughtful and philosophical writing combined with the awesome cyberpunk settings that make it my 2nd favorite game of all time

Left 4 Dead is still win. It'll definitely stand the test of time. I played half a level with Randyisgod15 and it was a blast.

And accept my friend request already Marcus!!!

Hahaha, my bad Chris, my 360 had its GPU failure back in like late October, and I have yet to get around to fucking sending it back :( TOMORROW WILL BE THE DAY!!!

Ha no biggie .

How's Okami by the way. Mike said you were playing it. I've always been meaning to pick it up for PS2.

Haha, it's most definitely one of my all time-faves dude (have you seen my current facebook pic? ;)) - it can be found for dirt cheap these days, and is an absolutely beautiful masterpiece that will last you FOREVER (seriously, it's so fucking long, but in a totally good way). Gameplay wise, it takes HEAVY influence from Zelda (right down to your mute character having a glowing wise-cracking miniature companion who does all the talking, gives hints, etc.), but also really innovates a lot as well - highly recommended!

I still play a bunch of L4D.. I thought it was way more fun on PC than 360, but all my buddies got it on 360.. and there is no other way to play it once you've played Versus with three friends. So fun!

And jesus, CoD4 really? :D Single player was way better than Halo 3's but multiplayer.. CoD is just Halo's easy mode hahaha

the CoD series has really stepped it up over the years. I picked up World At War despite the fact I really didnt want to go WWII again, since all my friends grabbed it and praised it.

The multiplayer level design is pretty badass this time around. Still a few too many cheeser campy fucks though.

Well I love CoD4's multiplayer because it's not frantic hyperactive hopping around capping people like Halo, there's some degree of tactics in all the weapon/accessory selection, firing shots in bursts to get better accuracy, choosing whether to go silent to avoid showing up on radar when firing, perk selection, etc. - much more in depth, IMO

Im not really in to that zombie genre.
It tends to get boring real fast.

COD 4 was the best game since MOH:AA, but seriously, Fallout 3 wipes its ass with all previous games!
