Legit studio monitors

I've been needing some new studio monitors but I don't even know where to begin. I've been using crappy headphones so it's really time for an upgrade. Any suggestions as to a good pair of monitors for around $800-$1000?

look for some used adam a7's

Depends on the room you'll be working in, and importantly, the budget.

If you've got the cash - get something like Adam A7s (or 5s in smaller rooms).

I own a pair of Adam A5X's, and i can highly recommend them

Yamaha hs80 as always in the low-to-mid-end class

The A7Xs are better than the A7s IMO. Not sure how that works with your budget of a grand though.

I just googled "andy sneap forum studio monitors" and there were over 10 threads on this already... Search next time.

Dynaudio BM5a's should be on your list to check aswell. You can find a used pair or the originals for cheaper too since the new MKII came out.
