Vauxdvihl - To Dimension Logic

parts of this album are really genius, while others are quite cheesy. it's a shame. the first 3-5 songs are so great.

I agree that many many prog metal bands are awful. but there are some gems, like

Anacrusis - Screams And Whispers
Psychotic Waltz - A Social Grace / Into The Everflow

Waltz isn't exactly obscure, but maybe you haven't heard of them as they disbanded long ago...

A band that no one has mentioned is Shadow Galley. Don't know if youd call them obscure, but they arent too popular.
They have some pretty decent songs and their guitarist is amazing.
