Line 6 POD HD

I hope this thing sounds better than the x3. If not, they should change the name to POD  " It will make you lol" instead of POD HD.

minor changes to digital tubes models + slightly more powerfull dsp, i guess...

I'm guessing theire will be tiered models with the 500 being the top of the line. I'll bet they'll include the M9 on the entry level, the M13 on the next step up and then the M13 + looper on the 500 line. These will all be pedal boards, so not amps/combos.

As they refused to improve their core-technology for years, people now will probably be disappointed by anything that isn't a huge step forward.

very interested. A guy from line 6 is giving away tidbits at thegearpage and it will feature all the effects of the m13 ( which couldn't fit in the x3 series, due to higher resolution of the m13 models) with the selectable routing chainability, and 16 new models built up with new patented modeling capturing they developed in house...

I still like pod farm ,my m13, and a lot of the old line 6 stuff so if this improves upon it it will be good... It's going to be in the 500 and under range too.

if they really want to appeal to the newer market:

POD 3D

(and still available in 2D for the cheap bastards :p)

Just had to say , I'm getting so goddamn tired of every movie being only in 3D at local theatres and shit. I'm legally blind in one eye , so I can't see 3D obviously , and even though they are supposed to have both versions they usually only have 3D and I'm stuck paying extra for bullshit I can't see , and even if I could from what I hear it's usually retro-fitted garbage to cash in on the craze. To me not having the 2D version for people like me is pretty discriminatory.

Personally, I've still never put my hands on a Line 6 product that I think will stand the test of time, in terms of sound quality.
Except maybe the Variax bass, wich I think can be cool, depending on what you do.

...such a cruel world

Are you kidding me?

When did Line6 come out with the XT modeling technology... years and years ago now. Shit is STILL being used for professional releases alllll the time. If that's not "standing the test of time" then I don't know what is...

Three Pod HDs have been announced, the HD300, HD400 and HD500, all with various specs, but using the same core tech. The 500 has XLR outs and twice as much looping memory as the other units. A rack unit has been hinted at, but not formally announced. The tech behind the amp modelling algorithms has been in R&D since about 2005.

Found this info with a little rummaging:

Seems like Line 6 took ideas from the Eleven Rack for this one... fewer amps but done extremely well. Can't wait to hear more about this, curious to know which amps they modeled. I'm pretty sure it's the standard list of the most used amps but here's my personal wishlist:

Bogner Ecstacy
Bogner Uberschall
Diezel VH4
Engl Savage
Fender Tweed Deluxe
Fender Black Face Twin Reverb
Marshall 1959 Plexi Super Lead
Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker
Marshall 1982 JCM800 2203KK
Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier
Mesa/Boogie Mark IV
Orange Rockerverb
Peavey 5150
Roland JC120
Soldano SLO100
Vox AC30 Top Boost

And of course... ALL channels, ALL modes/switches (like Eleven) and matching cabinets.
