Little Labs Red Eye and others like it

Got my aunt to buy my red eye and bring it over when she was coming on a visit home ( Ireland) 220 dollars- works out at about 160 euro.

One of my best buys for the use I get out of it. Transforms how I record guitars completely. I only take Dis and use sims for tracking with the monitors. I used to have guys track with the amp in the room and using phones. Was very hard to hear how good takes were and it certainly wasn't healthy for the guys having phones screaming at them. Now we re-amp it all later and can spend the time getting killer tones.

I'm thinking about getting one both for DI and reampng.
I'm recording DI direct to my M-Audio and sounds great, but would it be better to pass the signal through a DI Box?

Probably yes, but if you're using passive pickups the Redeye isn't the best choice as a DI box because its input impedance isn't as high as on active DI's (this doesn't matter anywhere near as much with EMG's though) Also, though, if you have the Profire 610, I'm pretty sure you won't be able to re-amp unfortunately, as the outputs on it are apparently pretty weak :(

For those curious about the Redeye's performance as a DI box, see this thread from eons ago
