I really like katatonia, sentenced and anathema; but they don't sound like children of bodom or dark tranquility or soilwork, not at all. I also like Opeth.

And I don't like Old Man's Child, Rotting Christ and Dissection from what I've heard.

If you are looking for some Melodic Death stuff, you should maybe check out these albums in addition to the one I mentioned above:

At The Gates - "Slaughter Of The Soul"
Detonation - "An Epic Defiance"
The Duskfall - "Frailty"
Nightrage - "Sweet Vengeance"
In Flames - try yourself, my favorites are "The Jester Race" and "Whoracle", also "Colony" and "Clayman" are good
Norther - "Dreams Of Endless War" for something like Children Of Bodom

And of course the other albums of Children Of Bodom, Dark Tranquillity and Soilwork.

Hell yeah, "Fraility" is a great album, one of the best in this genre I've heard for a long time! The Duskfall are very underrated, seems like most people don't even know them..
