Looking to better my Rhythm playing

I learned how to play on a really shitty amp (an 80 watt Gorilla) so I developed a good rhythm technique out of necessity. Just trying to eke something passable out of that crap heap, gave me a pretty monstrous sound out of a decent amp.

(tone samples at beginning and end of this video)

That & practicing lots of Megadeth riffs. I highly recommend Peace Sells & Rust in Peace.

Or learn any necrophagist or psycroptic song and if you mastered one of them you will be the alternate picking god!lol

Some iced earth songs are quite hard but let´s face it, alternate picking with one string it´s not so hard. Now try with 2 strings alternating between them or even worse, alternate picking with string skipping like necrophagist.

I think I've mastered The Stillborn One and Diminished To Be rhythm sections after a long practice and I'm still getting some trouble mastering even easier styles.

SERIOUSLY? :zombie: you play them clean with the original tempo?
Problems with easier styles? Like what? Of course this will not give you the feeling to play for example pink floyd tracks but we all talking about metal here.

Like decrepith birth, the black dahlia murder veil of maya, etc. To be fair I don't think it's even possible to play necrophagist songs as clean as they're in the records without editing and it's not like I "master" them but play them in tempo and press the right notes but not as clean as the studio versions.

I've just started practicing this one. Sooooo fast, I'm still 25-30 bpm from being able to play it cleanly. Makes Bleed look easy, which is also a really good song to practice for picking.
