Personally I've always thought that doing cocaine while listening to "Inferno(Unleash The Fire)" would be a very dangerous combination.

I'd say to keep your addictions to Symphony X. But do whatever YOU want to do. Sometimes we all have to learn the hard way. But my worldview is don't hurt anybody and don't take their stuff. Otherwise do whatever the hell you want. Truth be told though- drugs eat away at your being. Trust me. They also kill your brain cells, destroy your motivation, lower your morals, and break you away from reality. If that's what you want, go for it. But I'd rather see a fellow Symphony X fan stay healthy.

As for myself, I just drink- but I've started cutting down lately. Beer mostly. Besides, I can't afford the $$ to be an alcoholic right now anyway. But my Top 5 drugs of choice are:

1. That feeling you get when you see a really good horror movie that really freaks you out. I LOVE that.

2. Listening to Symphony X:rock:

3. Absinthe

4. Beer(GOOD beer)

5. Hanging out with my best friend

Not as safe as becoming a mormon; but safer still.
And no, I don't really think that "Lady Of The Snow" is a cocaine anthem.

Dude. What was that from?

I've never used any kind of drugs myself (I've never even had alcohol--the most potent thing I drink is probably orange juice!), but a friend in high school almost died after dropping acid. Apparently, a giant clock was chasing him (fangs and claws and everything) and he sprinted at full speed for about ten miles before his body basically just altogether stopped. Fortunately there were people around and he got immediate medical attention, but it was still a miracle that he lived. And yes, that was the last time he did drugs! I've had my share of people around me (including one of my brothers) completely ruin their lives through drugs, so I've got to recommend against even starting. There are so many other ways of having great and amazing experiences in life, and they're all better when you know what you're doing, and you can remember it all later. For example, I remember all of the concerts I've been to, but some of my friends don't remember even the best of them. And, some of them are dead. Okay, end of old guy lecture, but you young whippersnappers better shape up. I remember when I was a kid! Ten miles to school in the snow, uphill both ways! HEY! You kids there! Get off my lawn! (Waving cane in anger.)

Hyoukinmono, that reminds me of a similar incident involving a girl that inhaled Axe (yes, the deodorant). She thought she was being chased by werewolves and ran for hours around a roundabout until she nearly dropped.

Since this thread is rolling, I'll throw some more thoughts in....
It's not the 60s/70s anymore. For the most part, you had a good idea then what you were getting. Not so anymore, it has become a very dangerous game. But people still were screwed up and many died. I had friends who died. Also, prescription drugs are much too easy to obtain, even through physicians. Withdrawal from opiate addictions such as Vicodin and Oxy is a living hell. You're addicted before you even know you are.

You are the future of our world and you're good people with good minds. Please take care of yourselves.

P.S. I'm addicted to cigarettes, and that sucks. :Smokin:

Drugs are a very individual battle, I don't think you can sway somebody away from drugs with the predictable reply 'just say no' which in my opinion would make people want to do them more. The individual must make the choice and if need be learn the hard way because sometimes it's the only way.

I second what prismatic sphere said, don't cause harm to others and live the way you want. I personally think all drugs should be legal, this would save billions for the government and cut out the criminal element, people should have the free will to do what they want and if people want to fuck themselves up or simply have a nice trip they can do so.

Stupid people use drugs. That's all there is to it. If you fall for it you're seriously damaged. I feel sorry for anyone who is too mentally weak to find another way through life.

If you can't go to a party and act the way you wish you did, my advice is go see a psycho-doctor.

If you can't relax because your little nerves are too tense, take yoga.

Any reason that makes you conscider drugs means only one thing: YOU NEED HELP!!!

I beg to differ. The fact remains that certain drugs allow you to achieve states of mind impossible to reach without the help of intoxicants. Have you experienced the incredible euphoria that heroine creates, the fantastic visions of LSD, or the separation of mind and body you get when you reach the fourth plateau of dextrometorphan? I haven`t either, but reading the experiences of users of psychoactives gave me an insight into what it`s like USING drugs, not being ADDICTED to them. While I`m not confident enough to experiment with them myself, I can imagine that psychoactives, especially hallucinogens, give experiences you cannot get elsewhere. Don`t be so quick to dismiss drugs and their users- Not every drug-user is a filthy junkie robbing old ladies for his next shot

I remember even just being too drunk..one minute your flying the next minute your very much 'over' experiencing the high and just wish you could sober up already and you just can't..that to me is scary enough, especially when you realise that the state youre in, youre not mentally clear to make good judgement for yourself, and you have no idea what may or may not happen to you at the hands of other people.
I'm not sure if men ever fear that, but as a woman its a feeling i do not enjoy..and drugs give you that helplessness. So personally even without all the other dangers and straight out reasons why they are a no-go in my books.. that's still a reason to keep me away from them, most especially hallucinogens.

For me it's the feeling of 'not being in control' as well. I've been drunk quite a number of times, but I always made sure I could walk home, if need be. With smoking dope, I've had the experience of feeling my way through a scarcelit narrow halway, on my way to the toilet. I kept feeling along the wall in search of a light switch or something and I never could find it. I know there was a small step down and I was terrified that I'd miss that step and fall flat on my face. It couldn't have been more than ten inches down, but still the thought allone scared me shitless! When I finally reached the toilet, sweating like a pig, and locked the door and found the lightswitch and I could sit down, I felt a lot better. I still enjoy a couple of beers now and then, but drugs are not for me anymore...

I used mushrooms last Saturday, and there was nothing negative about the experience. Though I'm sure some people have had bad experiences with them, for me it was really great. All my senses became MUCH more intense. My brain was like thinking out 10 philosophies at a time. And now and then things looked like they were moving. For example the ceiling was moving and the nerves in the wood came to live which looked beautiful.
Another interesting thing was that the computer monitor was almost impossible to look into. There were really bright lights in it and it was like I could see the radiation comming out of it and it felt bad. Computer monitors are evil :loco:

Actually drugs do damage your brain, and you shouldn't do them. I know several friends who are literally idiots since they started on pot (imagine on harder drugs such as lsd or acid)
