As I listen to this song, I grab the lyrics only to find out it contains some old-Swedish/Norwegian poem or something. Naturally, I did use the google tranlater and trying to find out what it means, however, google messes it up pretty bad. Of course, I have searched the forum on this, but I couldn't find it.

This is the poem:

"Pa Vida Fдltet
Hдrmдn Svingat
Det Blanket Svдrdet
Och Banen Mцtt
Till Den Hцges Sal
de I Дra Fцrts
Och Vid Mjцdet Hцr
Odin Kvдda"

Is there some Norwegian/Swedish languagepurist who could translate this?

Thanks in advanced!

This is as good as I can figure:

Dad out in the fields
Imitates swinging
The blank form sword
And swore an oath
At the salt piles
They in glory proceed
And at mead hear
Odin poem

I'm only going from what you've written here, but here goes

Pa Vida Fдltet
På Vida Fältet = On the wide field

Hдrmдn Svingat
Har man Svingat (?) = One has swinged

Det Blanket Svдrdet
Det Blanka Svärdet = The shiny sword

Och Banen Mцtt
Och Banen Mött (?) = And met death

Till Den Hцges Sal
Till Den Höges Sal = To the hall of the "high" (mighty?)

de I Дra Fцrts
de I Ära Först = They in glory has been lead

Och Vid Mjцdet Hцr
Och Vid Mjödet Hör = And by the mead listen to

Odin Kvдda
Oden Kväda = Oden "speak"

Lots of the words are more ancient or at least older than what is normally used, also I did some guessing above, but hopefully it'll help.

That actually makes sense, thank you for your wisdom! Awesome poem.

They have it as:

"Pa Vida Fältet
Härmän Svingat
Det Blanket Svärdet
Och Banen Mött
Till Den Höges Sal
de I Ära Förts
Och Vid Mjödet Hör
Odin Kväda"

Banen could be Danen. I have personally never heard of the word Banen, and as a swede, that's odd.
Danen, meaning dane/danish, does make somewhat sense though. And why does it say "Pa" and not "På"?
