Lyrics Poetry

This isn't much but it caught my eye when I was flipping through one of my old notebooks and I thought I would share.

Why do you stare into the mirror?...
Looking for your heart and trying to change.

here another for those who are bored....(not really lyrics or a poem...it's something, I guess)

I often sift through memories only taking a glance
and never seeing what happened.
I create my own delusions of reality
and ignore my actions, Blur......
Time Passed, another day gone.
I have been taught but forgot to take notes.
The erosion went unnoticed..
childhood vision, the only real ones
slipped through my fingers
while I focused on the future.

But it was too late.

Apologies exist but poke at my eyes
until I am blind and can not see them.
Beating me down into the earth.
Soil stained matter, no more, no less
just curious but to no avail.
I cry...
It dampens my flesh and
allows me to squeeze into another day.

i thought riser are giants?

Well, you might be right about that, but then; south Europeans called the vikings giants... But there's so many different descriptions of how they are supposed to look, so you just use your imagination:)

@astarte: thanks for sharing that poem! :)
@Fleischwolf: thanks for sharing the Wolfheim song :)
@leadfoot256: another beautiful poem - thanks! :)

It probably mean smth.; most names do, though we usually don't think all that much about it. There are so many names and words connected with norse and old scandinavian mythology etc. that very few seem to know any meaning of... like Ginnugagap. And many don't seem to even take notice - it's a name - without any certain meaning - and that's it. If 'rise' do indeed have a certain meaning, I don't know what it is (other than it is a name now used about some certain creatures). My guess, though, would be that it is a name that once have been used about a people/tribe (describibg them somehow) living here in Scandinavia, like Jotner, Vaner, Goter, Æsir, Alver and so on... And they would be closest related to Jotnene.

eeh... *bows* (very unsteadidly - god I'm fucking shaking! Couldn't sleep for this terrible headache. So it's my own fault this hangover, and um.. what time it it? 4:28. Ahh... But shaking!? Grrrr!!!)

For my 200th post i'll make some sense...

Magick Heaven

The waning moon rises
like a nymph
from a sea of darkness
Silvery stars
shimmer with their burning
iridescent light
Aganist the deep, rich color
of the velvet sky
Sparkling lights dance,
wildly and unbridled
A celestial event
occuring above a canopy
of giants
Towering trees
covering
the cool
moist earth
The silken cloud
that is the earth
beneath my feet
moves softly

@Fleischwolf: I didn't answer your q about that movie: I don't think it's made its way out of Scandinavia, no, but it's not very interesting so there's no worry. I liked it when I was a kid, I remember, so I wanted to see it again a couple of years back, to see how I would react then, and I was really disappointed, cause it was supposed to be historical correct (about viking), but it was definitely not (and it made the ppl back then seem really mean). I just like the raven girl...

Finnaly I've got the Englisch translation of Nobele Bazen. It was very difficult because it is Old-Dutch and I'am not a good Englisch speaker.

marcheren's levens pijp is uitgegaan!"

Translate:
Of smoking, noble bosses, stopped once measure
Brothers smoke in wide rings, spride the smoke of this heavenly spice
Yeah, we will during singing surround us with balsam air
Of smoking, noble bosses, stopped once measure

Yeah, we will during singing surround us with balsam air
blow it the nose and lips out, Yeah, I will ????? waiting to lifes path, eternal honour the tobacco, till the pipe of life is put out

Sorry for all the mistakes, people

here's a song I like...

Sunrise

After a long night among the stars...
alone on a sacred mountain top
golden light is now suddenly but
gently overflowing the land -
the promise of a new day
is dawning - new hope,
new ways to go...
the first rays of the sun
are touching the horizon -
touching your heart, your soul
with the light of hope -
the promise of life,
sunrise - soulrise

And, oh, here's another one. I love this poem. ('Cause) My best friend MADE this for ME! Almost started to cry when I first read it...

Before I went to bed...

Before I went to bed
tonight, I just had
to let you know, that
my love for you is
strong, and will
always continue to
grow.

Before I went to bed
tonight, I had you
on my mind. I thought
of sweet things you've
done for me, things from
a heart that is so kind.

Before I went to bed
tonight, I thought
that you should hear,
that every moment we
spend together, I hold
each second dear.

I hope this letter
makes you happy, if
only for a while. But
I'd gladly write a
million, just to see
you smile.

I had to let you know, before I went to bed...

Since I posted a little excerp from this poem in the party thread, I will post the rest of it here.....

IMAGINE A WOMAN

Imagine a woman who believes it is right and good she is a woman. A woman who honors her experience and tells her stories. Who refuses to carry the sins of others within her body and life.

Imagine a woman who believes she is good. A woman who trusts and respects herself. Who listens to her needs and desires, and meets them with tenderness and grace.

Imagine a woman who has acknowledged the past's influence on the present. A woman who has walked through her past. Who has healed into the present.

Imagine a woman who authors her own life. A woman who exerts, initiates, and moves on her own behalf. Who refuses to surrender except to her truest self and to her wisest voice.

Imagine a woman who names her own gods. A woman who imagines the divine in her image and likeness. Who designs her own spirituality and allows it to inform her daily life.

Imagine a woman in love with her own body. A woman who believes her body is enough, just as it is. Who celebrates her body and its rhythms and cycles as an exquisite resource.

Imagine a woman who honors the face of the Goddess in her changing face. A woman who celebrates the accumulation of her years and her wisdom. Who refuses to use precious energy disguising the changes in her body and life.

Imagine a woman who values the women in her life. A woman who sits in circles of women. Who is reminded of the truth about herself when she forgets.

Imagine yourself as this woman.

-by Patricia Lynn Reilly

And for all the males (it'll fit in much of it anyway, if not all of it): change all the places with 'woman' and 'women' with 'man' and 'men'! :)

I love the lyrics to this song, even if it is not metal.

Babylon -- David Gray
Friday night I'm going nowhere
All the lights are changing green to red
Turning over TV stations
Situations running through my head
Well looking back through time
You know it's clear that I've been blind
I've been a fool
To ever open up my heart
To all that jealousy, that bitterness, that ridicule

Saturday I'm running wild
And all the lights are changing red to green
Moving through the crowd I'm pushing
Chemicals all rushing through my bloodstream
Only wish that you were here
You know I'm seeing it so clear
I've been afraid
To tell you how I really feel
Admit to some of those bad mistakes I've made

If you want it
Come and get it
Crying out loud
The love that I was
Giving you was
Never in doubt
Let go your heart
Let go your head
And feel it now

Babylon, Babylon

Sunday all the lights of London
Shining , Sky is fading red to blue
I'm kicking through the Autumn leaves
And wondering where it is you might be going to
Turning back for home
You know I'm feeling so alone
I can't believe
Climbing on the stair
I turn around to see you smiling there
In front of me

If you want it
Come and get it
Crying out loud
The love that I was
Giving you was
Never in doubt
And feel it now
Let go your heart
Let go your head
And feel it now
Let go your heart
Let go your head
And feel it now
Let go your heart
Let go your head
And feel it now
Let go your heart
Let go your head
And feel it now

Babylon, Babylon, Babylon
