\m/ MAYHEM \m/

Maniac is a worthless singer. And he haven't been singing in Mayhem since on the "Deathcrush" demo, because MAYHEM DO NOT EXIST ANYMORE.

Well, what do you say to this?

Zyklon, although I prefer Dead to Maniac (of course), I still love Maniac's vocals, both growled and oratory. He definitely adds a spark to the band.... a real atmosphere, like the days of old.

By the way, Mayhem are playing in Melbourne in a months time, so I'm hanging out for that.

Really? You mean they resurrected Euronymous? Or are you talking about that other band that after Mayhem's unfortunate demise stole their name and logo to make a living off the Dimmu Borgir/Cradle Of Filth "black metal" bandwagon trendies?

You're a fucking idiot. If you're not into the current band, just leave it alone.... do something else.

You have to come to terms with the fact that some people actually still like them.

So basically, fuck off.

whats with all theese retards on this "ultimatemetal" forum
talking shit about metal.
they should rename this whole fucking Site to come say shit about a Metal band.

Some people notice the difference between good and bad music, some people don't.

 This is laughable. Although I should have expected that a forum largly based on black metal would attract the closed minded who refuse to acknowledge such intangibles as taste and preference.

I agree with the guy who said this forum should be renamed. There are way to many opinions and precious little conversation taking place around here. It seems that some people have confused a discussion forum for a place they can just criticise and prove to the rest of the world how their favourite bands are infinitely superior to everyone elses.

No one's suggesting there can't be a difference of opinion in discussion, but the constant and monotonous criticism of any band that isn't true to the original blue print of black metal becomes wearisome.

Further to being just plain annoying, it gets in the way of discussions of bands that people may like.

Ideally, people should be able to discuss things without resorting to school-boy "this band is gay, this band rocks" type of idiocy.

Diversity in taste is a great thing, but so is intelligence. Lets see some for a change.

Damn.. I'm so tired of this "The True Mayhem died with Euronymous" shit.

BTW: Have you heard the Mayhem Tribute album called Originators Of Northern Darkness? I have it and I think it's great.. some of those bands have really done some great work with those covers.. like Immortal, Vader, Seth and Gorgoroth..

I was looking at that today actually. It looked really good, and had some pretty incredible bands listed as contributors. Next time I've got some funds I'll be making an investment I think!

It has nothing to do with that. Musically, they just suck. If you don't think I should make this statement, then too bad. I won't compromise my opinions to please others.

You just don't seem to be understanding what I'm saying...

Don't worry about it...

No. You don't see my point. You claimed that I attack Mayhem because they are not "true to the original blue print of black metal". This is utterly false statement.

I would agree that MAYHEM, the real Mayhem did die with Euronymous and Dead, but many seem to blame that completely on Mayhem's change of style, which isn't true. Bands change, I happen to like new Mayhem, possibly more than old Mayhem, but I havn't heard as much old as new. My two cents...

Well I think Declaration is quite an amazing album. The one thing I dont like is Hellhmmer's drumsound. Too thin, too powerless for my taste. Of course he plays like no one, but the sound should be much fatty, raw IMO.
The best Mayhem singer is Attila, not because he is a fellow hungarian, but because his voice and the way he sings is unique. And fits to the music really well. I wouldnt say Mayhem died with Euronymous, but I can understand those who think so...
Regarding Mayhem covers, check out Anaal Nathrakh's De mysteriis dom Sathanas cover. It kills, one of the best covers I ever heard. Agressive, hysteric, devastating  Find on mp3.com

I think they would have done better in just letting Mayhem rest in peace as the legends they were instead of defiling their memory with something completely unrelated to Euronymous' (the unquestioned "leader" of Mayhem) original vision.

Hmmmm maybe you're right.... I mean that they could have released the "grand declaration" material under another band-name...
I think that in this case everyone would be ok with this album cause it's really cool, but -of corpse some of their fans can't sand this change in the music under the label: MayheM...

BUT still the current members are the 3/4 of the first MayheM line-up... so it would be weird for them to change band-name....
I have no problem with "the false":p MayheM sice their music is ok to my ears:)
