Has anyone tried this ..they never posted an update and the product is discontinued ...I sent an email to Mackie asking this question but the never responded ......It seems everytime i invest in a company something goes wrong...

So yeh has anyone tried this?

I've been using it here with Win 7 for about a year now. It feels more stable on Win7 than it did with the appropriate drivers on XP SP2, which apparently was the most stable of the bunch for running a 400F.

It's been stable for me. I've recently switched to an RME -> ADAT setup. The mackie is now hanging off the mac. One thing to note, the Vista/Win7 driver was more fickle about the firewire card in those OSes than in XP for me. I ended up getting a Belkin card with the TI chipset and it cleared up remaining crackle/pops.

Too date Mackie have refused to provide driver support for the Onyx 400 f soundcard, this is a ridiculous state of affairs, please sign the petition to challenge this at

This soundcard when new cost upwards from £800, an excellent soundcard, how many of us can afford to replace such equipment on a regular basis, more importantly how can our planet sustain a world that keeps making viable hardware obsolete.

Even if you dont own an Onyx 400f please support us that do

many thanks
