Nice one Sprucey with the Maiden album opener thing, we haven't had many lists or anything lately or a chance to be creative hahaha!

So I will revive this old thing. Create a Maiden setlist! Usually with these things I say 20 songs but Maiden songs are usually longer than those by bands who play 20 song setlists let's cut it back to 18. Shoot! Here's mine:

Where Eagles Dare
Two Minutes To Midnight
Flight Of Icarus
22 Acacia Avenue
The Evil That Men Do
The Prisoner
Bring Your Daugter...To The Slaughter
Can I Play With Madness?
The Trooper
Wasting Love
Holy Smoke
The Wicker Man
Revelations
Children Of The Damned
Wasted Years
Hallowed Be Thy Name
-------------------
Aces High
Run To The Hills

I would love that setlist. All the catchy songs with big choruses & stuff! MUCH better than the AWFUL setlists on the last 2 tours they've done.

Yeah I'd like to hear him singing it now with his voice back in shape. It's a great song I think, just his vocals are too scratchy on the album. And the video isn't the best... haha!

Here are the setlists for the 2 nights they would play in Melbourne at Rod Laver, recording both for a DVD set.

First night

The Ides Of March (backing tape intro)

Invaders
2 Minutes To Midnight
Revelations
The Trooper
Fates Warning
Remember Tomorrow
Phantom Of The Opera
Die With Your Boots On
Afraid To Shoot Strangers
Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
22 Acacia Avenue
The Number Of The Beast
The Clansman
Purgatory

Hallowed Be Thy Name
Run To The Hills

Caught Somewhere In Time
Wasted Years

Second night

The Ides Of March (backing tape intro)

Aces High
The Trooper
The Wicker Man
Children Of The Damned
Man On The Edge
The Evil That Men Do
Powerslave
Wasting Love
Paschendale
Be Quick Or Be Dead
Holy Smoke
The Edge Of Darkness
Fear Of The Dark
Drifter

The Number Of The Beast
Hallowed Be Thy Name

Alexander The Great
Wasted Years

2am and Sign Of The Cross are two songs I would have liked to include, but oh well.

In no order:

Prowler
Wildest Dreams
22 Acacia Avenue
Wasted Years
Hooks in You
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Total Eclipse (the live one, not the plodding studio one)
The Evil, the Evil, the Evil THAT MEN DO
Rainmaker
The Thin Line Between Love & Hate
Ghost of the Navigator
Futureal
The Unbeliever
The Edge of Darkness
Fear of the Duck
Revelations
Purgatory
Drifter

That'll do, pig.

I would have them do Blitzy's set, except I would also get them to play "Dream of Mirrors" and "Ghost of the Navigator" instead of "Wasting Love" and "Alexander the Great". And on the first night, instead of "Fate's Warning", they would do "Prowler".

In no particular order...

Fates Warning
The Evil That Men Do
The Clansman
The Wicker Man
Ghost Of The Navigator
Infinite Dreams
Fear Of The Dark
Two Minutes To Midnight
Number Of The Beast
Phantom Of The Opera
Aces High
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Wasted Years
Stranger In A Strange Land

It's funny that any idiot can throw together a better Maiden setlist than the band themselves..

My idiot set. :)

Murders In The Rue Morgue
Rainmaker
Prowler
Die With Your Boots On
Sea Of Madness
Only The Good Die Young
Aces High
King In Crimson
Where Eagles Dare
The Number Of The Beast
Iron Maiden

Encore
Como Estais Amigos unplugged
Hallowed Be Thy Name
The Trooper
2 Minutes To Midnight

I wanted an acoustic track in the encore, but not Journeyman. Strange World, 2 AM and Children Of The Damned were others I considered..

I know there's easily enough Maiden to fill a set, but just imagine the interest the band could create if were to add something different into the set like a Bruce track.. It would almost be enough for me to care again! :tickled:

Alternatively the band could just bite the bullet and play a set like this;

Iron Maiden
Caught Somewhere in Time
Wasted Years
Sea of Madness
Heaven Can Wait
Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner
Stranger in a Strange Land
Déjà Vu
Alexander the Great
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Fear Of The Dark
The Trooper
The Number Of The Beast
