hi there, i´m looking for some opinions about the peavey 5150 and the 5150 II to the new ones 6105 / 6105 II ,

FIRST POST :)
Thank´s!

From what I understand, the 6505 series is no different than the 5150 series for the most part. The I has less gain than the II but really you don't need it. There's also an additional channel (at least on the 5150II) which is convenient for live situations. Not to speak for the Sneapster, but he'd probably tell you he prefers the 5150 I over the II because of the additional high frequency fizz you get out of it. You'll be happy with any of these, I'm sure.

These are excellent amplifiers but if you are playing at a low tuning (B or lower) you may consider spending more for a mesa rectofier or a krank amp as they sometimes handle low guitar notes a bit better, with more clarity.

humm..well, at home i have a pod xt and that does the thing but now i have a band and for rehearsal i would like to buy some good metal amp :)
i saw a engl fireball in a local store in promo for 880 euros ... i play metal (drop d), soooo it would be engl fireball or peavey 5150 I or II (in this case 6505 I or 6505 II ) and that´s that! Now i must collect some info CAN YOU HELP ME? YEAH ! YOU LOOKING HERE!

Well, you can't go wrong with any of the amps that have been mentioned. It would basically come down to price and your personal preference. I suggest that you just take your guitar down to the store, plug into each amp and then decide which one you like the best.

It's really the opposite: I more gain than II

Uhm well I think 5150 can handle low tunings too due to the fact of the "hiss"
so with very low tunings you can get clarity, and to me the low end of 5150 is tighter than mesa

i dunno i have both the I and the II and to my ears the II has more gain and the I has more low end. i prefer the 1st channel on the I with a tube screamer in front personally.

I also like using the tube screamer in front of the green channel on the 6505, I find it to be smoother and not as "gnarly" as the red channel.
