Unfortunately, Malédiction, one of the most promising european heavy metal bands, has recently split-up. The official announcement from the bands website says that they will be back with new projects soon, but the don't explain the reasons for their disbanding. For those who know french:

MERDE!

I felt something was wrong when their webpage wasn't renewed in quite a long time. I can't understand they were a very promising band with two solid albums and playing great metal regardless of the language. I believe they had market worldwide in spite of it. Damn!

Probably the same situations alot of very good Metal bands are in now; they put a huge effort in making good CD's and playing live gigs, but the big amount of time put in rehearsing and playing live doesn't pay off money wise... Although the music is more important as the money indeed, most of these band members still have jobs and family aside from their band, and it can be very hard to combine that all.
Remember what the bass player of Wolf told? Driving 10 houres to HOA, getting virtually payed nothing and knowing you're one of the better live bands around. It's a hard live being in an "underground" superband....
