Manilla Fucking Road

I still haven't gotten into them. Crystal Logic and Open the Gates both have their rare good moments, but otherwise it's terrible vocals over not-at-all epic riffs behind some rather long songs.

Bumping again.

How good are the first two albums? I heard that they are more spacey prog rock then metal.

So yeah...new album soon.

You'd have to be gay to think those vocal melodies are "poor", that is some pretty classy, subtle and moody shit right there. This song is slow to build with a really straightforward and no-bullshit structure, and I like it, but I will reserve judgment of it until I hear how it fits into the new album contextually. As it stands though, I hope the rest of the album is better and has more energy.

Had'nt noticed this thread before, they are definately a band that I appreciate very much.Pretty much all of their albums require repeated spins to grasp fully and that's quite remarkable considering that they operate within a fairly simple framework.Without having heard any samples from the upcoming album i'm really looking forward to it,i'm not sure when it's to be released but no doubt i'll know about it when it is.Looking forward to more amazing Mark Shelton solos.

Looking back over this thread and remembering why I stopped posting in the the metal section of GMD, lol. Got tired of wanting to debate music and being vehemently opposed by people who offer no justifications whatsoever for their opinions, yet somehow consider their opinions more valid than others.
